Hello everyone,

I'm Canadian, and we applied for outland sponsorship (we both live outland). Paper application was submitted on 27 October 2021.
Am very impatient and check my email daily. Still no AOR

Hi,

Are you a canadian citizen ? If I recall correctly, only canadian citizens can sponsor their spouse's PR application if both of them are outside of Canada. If Sponsor is canadian PR, he/she needs to stay in canada for sending the application (and also while it is processed)

I went through quite a number of pages but couldn't find the forum. can you please post the link for it?

Application delivered - 15th October
AOR- yet to receive
Has anyone received the AOR for the month of October?

Yes, I couldn't find any other thread for outland Oct 2021. Thus, created the thread.

I guess we should be receiving the AORs for oct soon as Sep ones are here. Hopefully, in 1st or 2nd week of Jan

Hey all,

December online applicant here. I'm looking at your AOR dates on the tracking doc and see that not a single online applicant has received their AOR but most paper applicants have (except the understandably fast-tracked Afghanistan online application). Seems to be a trend that is carrying over from September. Are the online applicants simply not updating the doc or did the rest of us make a huge mistake not sending in paper applications?

I'm starting to question some life choices..... :p

If your 'life choice' was that online must be better and faster because [computers or something], and ignored that this is a pilot programme (in computer terms, a public beta), then arguably yes.

So far they seem to be processed with just a bit of a lag compared to paper apps. Just wait and see.

But yes, others should also be aware: there is zero evidence that online is faster so far, and only clear advantage is not having to coordinate and send large volumes of paper by courier.

It is a pilot programme.

I never expected it to be faster, but not the lag it seems to be currently having. We chose it because it was just easier for us to coordinate not being in the same country. I guess I made the assumption that once received, it would be queued right along side paper apps and be looked at in consecutive order but you know what they say about assumptions.

Well that not having to coordinate across time and space is a pretty big advantage - be happy with the benefit you got from that and just wait, I get the impression the 'lag' is not that large (although of course it feels like it). Maybe the time you saved dealing with docs makes up for it.

I could only speculate about why this lag, but the obvious candidates are more people using it than expected, some unexpected short-staffing or resource issue as a result (possibly related to it being a pilot, minor glitches that have to be solved by people in demand i.e. specialists), and then the covid/afghanistan scheduling issues.

But I do think a lot of people leapt on board the online train thinking it had to be faster, and ... it's a beta. Clearly enough people prefer it and it;s pretty likely they'll make it the default way to apply as soon as they get the glitches ironed out.

:pags

Hi, I am not seeing any updates on the tracker for applications after Oct 18. Is it because IRCC has not processed them or our patrons not updating it. I have not seen any updates from last 10 days. Anyone who has their application received by IRCC after 18th Oct and got an AOR.

Also, I am using an immigration consultant. Can I link the application to my profile rather than the consultant linking to their profile. Will it be a problem.

The lack of updates could be both. There is a natural slow down of apps around December both because of the holidays and because there is a very large number of study permits that need to be vetted as there are programs that begin in January and approved students need to be able to have their travel docs. Things should start picking up again soon as the machine once again start rolling.
