I don't know when my request was approved. I haven't received any email about the approval of the request. My tracker was updated to Decision Made one week after the UP request. I guess they approved it in the last few days.

Call the ircc office number around 1/2 PM & enquire after a few days. That’s the only way to know about UP. They never reply - yes we accepted your UP, they just process your thing really fast till the end. That’s how you know. Good luck with everything!

Do you think IRCC agent have the info if the UP request is approved?
That's would be great if that's true. I found a trick to call IRCC and can get connected almost every time I call them.
Sure, getting connected is not at all a problem. They do have visibility about UP but they ask you to verify every single detail before giving you info. UCi, address, Application number etc.
You just need to be respectful enough & ask these things, my agent even spoke about some notes the officer from Montreal made. But few other agents are tight lipped they don’t reveal much. Its luck I guess who you talk to. Good luck!
My oath is on the 29th of November. UP approved. I am debating if I should book the ticket leaving about 10 days after the oath. I know it's a gamble but that's the only date cheap enough to go. Other dates cost at least 1.5 times. My passport application guarantor is willing to accompany me to Service Canada. What do you guys think?

If it will speed up things why not? Im still waiting for test since applying June 2020 (Scarborough) while someone that applied May 2021 has gotten test email. I have no words!
I believe they mentioned on twitter they won't respond to questions until Nov. 12. I don't know what they mean not respond, as if they were responding to anything.
"Standard" processing family applicant here. My wife and I did our tests back in September and as of the end of October Ecas is showing our applications as Decision Made. No sign yet of the oath ceremony.
Yesterday, my wife's father ended up in the hospital. Really, my wife needs to go back to Taiwan. Here are the problems:
- Going to Taiwan now without completing the ceremony will likely result in missing the ceremony and delaying citizenship even further.
- Our PR cards expired back in May. I'm not even sure if it's possible to get them done now - with or without rush processing - with a Decision Made on our cases.
- Taiwan doesn't have a Canadian consulate. PRTDs are taking 2 months for people in normal countries to obtain. I have no idea how long it'd take from Taiwan - and that still assumes it's possible to get one with a Decision Made status.
- Taiwan currently quarantines incoming arrivals for a minimum of 7 days. The clock is ticking if she is to get back in time.
1. Does anyone know if rush processing will do anything to speed up our cases at this point?
2. Is the citizenship certificate also sent out quickly or is it via Canada Post?
3. Realistically, am I going to have to resign myself to the wife taking a US-bound flight back and then me driving over the border to pick her up?
IRCC should have extended the validity of all PR cards expiring in 2020 and 2021 by a year to allow for the extra time they've given themselves to process renewals. It would have also relieved some of the pressure from the staff who clearly can't deal with the workload under normal conditions, never mind the excuse they've given themselves with COVID.

My wife applied in Sep. 2019, they started processing her application in Nov. 2019, got her test at end of april 2021 and Decision Made at end of July 2021. But still no oath ceremony. Normal processing but it is stuck at last step. While some people who applied in 2020 and even 2021 are getting oaths. So unfair. We also cannot leave country due to expired PR card and it is taking them 4+ months for renewing PR card.
Apply for PR cards urgent processing. You can have them delivered in less 10 days. Citizenship UP would take more time, and your case, to be honest, doesn't require a Canadian citizenship.
