Hello,
I got this mail from VFS on the 13th of this month saying “The envelope for the decision on the results of your visa that has been processed has been received at the Canadian Visa Application Center at Ghana OC, on the date. We will then send this to the Canadian Visa Application Center Ghana OC. Please note that this is an automated email. Please DO NOT reply to this email.”

But up till now I’ve not gotten any update. I’m starting to get anxious. Anyone on this same boat with me??

Since you got this mail on 13th I would assume you in Nigeria. I know its confusing and annoying but I will suggest, all applicant from Nigeria to give themselves atleast 5 weeks to receive the passport or start worrying. From most applicant aster receiving that mail, I think the passport is being moved through various offices/transits and that's where the lack of communication is, as in between the visa offices, applicants and the courier services. No updates are made till it lands and ready to be delivered to you.

When the file sets of from the office, its very challenging tracking it. And the file can just be sitting with DHL for days before moving them in bulk. Am sure your file is 100% IN TRANSIT(DHL WAREHOUSE). until you get the 10-digit tracking number of DHL, you can't track it till you receive it. That tracking ID provided by visa office is just a reference ID when you contact IRCC or vfs, its kinda a FILE NUMBER. Best way to track it is with the average expecayedtime of past applicants.

However, you could keep calling the vfs of lagos to see if anything arrived using your file or so called tracking ID from vfs accra.

I don't know if this comment will calm others down a bit or rather just not stress when you receive that message. So I always thought the vfs holds the passports and creating the long wait. Vfs Accra, don't really hold passports as the courier services such as DHL, have a daily pickup of passports from their office. This only means that the courier services are prolly the ones hoarding the passports till they receive a specific bulk quantity before set off to lagos. So between the time your passport is with DHL till vfs lagos/delivery directly to you, there is lack of info. Because surely vfs notify us once a specific file is in their location.

Thanks for the response.
I actually sent mine through VFS Abuja. I not actually worried that I haven’t gotten the passport back and I already have it at the back of my mind that it takes 5-6 weeks.
What concerns me is that I learnt they normally send another acknowledgment mail after the one I mentioned earlier stating that the passport has been received at the Embassy (correct me if I’m wrong). If I haven’t gotten that mail till now doesn’t it mean that my passport is still sitting at the VAC in Accra and hasn’t been dispatched yet. Or that’s the only mail they send till the passport gets to Nigeria.
Cause I learnt the second mail is supposed to come after about 3-4 days from the first one.
That’s what’s getting me worked up.

You welcome. As is booked already let's be hopeful then. But reason I haven't yet is cause I will be going crazy right now if I were you and didn't have the passport yet. I just hope you calculated atleast 6 weeks to book the ticket because Nigerians passports return roughly within 5-6 weeks from past approved applicants.
Lol I promise you it definitely has been crazy, it’s been God calming me down.. yeah it’s the 5th week now . So fingers crossed, tomorrow’s almost here.

That's true even though I know some few who ddnt get any followup mails but just a call for their passports(it may be they ddnt check before getting passports or didn't mention it).

Best is to contact vfs accra, since you believe its in their side. Use your tracking id in the mail and ask of its current location. Their contact is +233302750200. They might have forgotten it somewhere so calling to check is not a bad idea.

Guys, finally, tracked these guys and picked up me passport. In my hands right now. Wish everyone in this platform good luck this week especially fellow Nigerian colleagues awaiting the passport delivery. May the Lord lead the way and grant everyone's wishes very soon. Wasn't easy at all, but can't complain anymore will keep all in prayers. I can't even wish for an enemy to go through such a process.

I will be checking once in a while to see if I could contribute or comment in here. Have a blessed day fam.
