Hi all, a quick question for friends who are already arrived in Canada about "Total Funds available for settlement in Canada" asked in 6A. I noticed some threads mentioning that we might be asked to provide proof for total funds available, either early on, or when we are approved and arrived in Canada (a border control officer might ask for that).

My question is: when asked by an officer at the border (or early on), do you need to have proof of the amount you declared in the 6A "Total Funds available for settlement in Canada", or do you just need enough to live for 1 year in Canada (which can be much less)?

I'm asking because some of the money might not be in cash form. I wonder if we need proof of the exact amount (or more) we declared in 6A, or is it flexible? Thank you so much.
How much money should we show for this application in Form 6A... I have shown 285k CAD 18 months ago hoping it will be sufficient.. I can add a 100k more to it but I am waiting for some information from IRCC, I did not get any response so far from IRCC except for AOR , UCI and an ADR for unsigned federal form.. It has been a 15 month wait and its killing

Seeking help - I want to send a webform inquiry to IRCC, but on this page, I CANNOT find the Self-employed Application Type... after choosing Permanent Resident (applied by mail), there are only 5 types of application to choose from, Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skill Worker, Quebec Selected Skill Worker, Skill Trade Class, Provincial Nominee...

I sent my application and want to make 100% sure they get it. Please help, thank you all!!

Applied in December 2020
temporary AOR in January 15 2021
Still waiting
Is there anyone who have applied in 2020 or 21 and got AOR? What is the status?
Applied in August 2019
AOR in Sept 2019
Biometrics Oct 2019
...still waiting

I am now unsure if this is even accurate that's how long it has been... lots of good stuff can happen in 2 years! but, it is fine.. whatever the outcome still Life is great! Keeping the positivity! Stay safe!

What could be responsible for such long delay? Is it the pandemic? Though the processing time now is 2.5yrs. This program needs lots of patience. Am very sure when things ease out, it will be a bit faster. Again it depends on how easy it is for visa officers to verify your information too.

They have recently resumed in July so I think they gonna process the application much faster now. Moreover, the processing time also depends on the nature of your business and complexity of your application.

You are 100% correct. Reason one has to be very detailed and precise in his documentations. Thanks for your kind submission.
