Are you sure you don’t fall under this category: https://www.cicnews.com/2021/06/canada-put-their-immigration-applications-on-hold-for-having-dependents-overseas-0618078.html ?

You needed to specifically have a US or Hong kong residence card to be qualified for travel exemptions to get PPR. In past month we saw movements on London VO applications of British Commonwealth residents, but hard to tell if there were PPR actually issued.
Where does it say HK resident qualified for travel exemption?

Why are you raising web forms for GCMS? you are supposed to order them via a third party website such as getgcms or someone inland can order for you.
I raised 7 webforms asking for the status of my application and all the time I received a generic response, I also ordered GCMS 2.5 moths ago from CBSA via GetGCMS website and I received only the 120 days extension email. Now I want to contact them via phone and maybe I have the luck to receive an answer to my questions.

I tried sending them email, they didn't respond as mine was not TRV. However, they replied to my parents TRV (Supervisa as my brother is PR) application which is also due to get processed at NDVO.....but NDVO just can't. It's high time for IRCC to expand manpower or to outsource their backlog to save some funds :D:D:D

Always ordered CBSA Notes (2 times) from GcmsNotes.com and GCMS Notes (4 times) from JustForCanada.com - always received them in 30 days.

Hi! I applied for GCMS notes from IRCC website and got them in 30 days as well. Unfortunately the assistant has noted an issue with the eligibility. Is it okay to claim work experience from 2 different NOCs? I have 31 months from one NOC (educational researcher), and 12 months from another NOC (doctoral candidiate + research assistant), all full-time and paid. I have submitted experience letters with salary details for both. They have recognized the former, but have not recognized the latter. The assistant simply noted "31 months of experience against the 36+ months claimed. Check with agent". What should I do? Should I clarify with a web form or something?

I'm quite worried, and would like advice from anyone with knowledge/experience including @legalfalcon. Thank you!

If your work reference letter included all the required details including the job duties, was on a letterhead etc. it should be considered.

If you have a review required, see my old post on this:

Understanding “Review Required”

A lot of applicants see “review required” in their GCMS notes for eligibility. There are many theories floating around with regard to what “review required” means and if it is alarming.

Before I venture into explaining the significance, it is important to understand that each application goes through the following stages as per the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and the regulations (Canadian Immigration Law):

R10 – Completeness Check
Criminality
Medicals
A11.2 – eligibility
Security

Out of the above, the most important stage is eligibility. This is also the most time-consuming stage because your documents have to be verified, evaluated and assessed to ascertain that you meet the eligibility criteria for the program you have applied to (FSW / CEC / FTW). To streamline this process and make it easier for an immigration officer (decision-making authority), all applications are first evaluated by case analysts or program assistants. They review the documents and summarize them in the GCMS. If they have any concerns with any document or want the immigration officer to carefully look into a specific document, they will flag it as “review required.” It is the content of the note that is important here. If the review required is for a specific document, while the summary of the note says that an applicant has met the eligibility, or is “ready to finalize” it simply means that while the applicant has met the eligibility criteria, but the specific document needs a careful examination form the officer before promoting (eligibility pass) by the officer.

However, if there are concerns, there will be a review required for the eligibility, and there will be no text to the effect “ready to finalize” or pass. The note will specifically state job duties do not match, or the employee cannot be verified, or the number of years of work experience claimed cannot be verified. This is where an application can land in muddy waters. But the final decision rests on the immigration officer. He may override the decision of the analyst/assistant or go with the analysis of the analyst/assistant.

Even in cases where the analyst/assistant is of the opinion that the applicant has met the eligibility, and there is no “review required,” the officer can replace it with his own opinion. Though rare, it does happen. This is why the eligibility is only passed when an officer conclusively marks the eligibility as passed.

Finally, there is a “review required” for PoF. This is the most common in many applications. This is because the financial and banking practices of each country are different. Eg. Fixed deposits are known as Certificate of Deposit (CD) in the US. Similarly, treasury bonds, mutual funds, stocks, and many other investment vehicles are there. If your PoF is anything other than a bank deposit, it is more likely that it will be marked as “review required.” Also, IRCC does not go by day-to-day fluctuations in FOREX. Instead, the Canadian federal government issued a quarterly conversion rate for all FOREX vis-a-via CAD. If your PoF is in a foreign currency, then you may have “review required” for the officer to make a determination.

Just because you have “review required” does not mean that you hit panic mode. Instead, read the context in which it is there. If there is a concern regarding a document, you can send a replacement document via CSE. The most common reasons for RR are:

1. Work reference letter without job duties
2. Work reference letters missing all the details requested by IRCC
3. If you submitted a letter from a colleague because you were unable to get one from your employer, but did not have a LoE on file, this too will lead to RR.
4. Not sufficient work experience in the primary NOC.
5. Inability to verify your employment as your employer details are missing.

These are just some of the scenarios.

I ordered them for the 1st time in 16 May, on 15 June I received the extension and since then I'm waiting. I'm thinking to order new ones but I don't know from which authority since both IRCC and CBSA are issuing extensions. I'm also thinking to ask my aunt this time to order them. But before waiting another 30 days I'll give them a call.

Yes, it's best to order with the help of a relative or a friend who resides in Canada.
Calling would be really helpful. Try to call them at 8am canadian time.

I am may sound negative but i am just going to say it, i don't know about other country applicants but as an Indian i definitely have my expectations in check given the covid scenario in India. People are roaming around maskless and there is no such thing as restrictions which are being enforced here.

Its about time third wave comes and sh*t hits the fan once again for us Indians applicants. first wave hit, we put down severe lockdowns, WHO praised how India handled it, we thought oh wow we aced covid control and BAM 2nd wave hit so hard it was broadcasted all over the world.

2nd wave is over and the country's covid cases and vaccination numbers look good at face value but i think Canadian experts must have guessed that third wave is going to hit some time soon and there's no use processing Indian applicants because they know they will have to shut it down once again once the wave begins.

So yeah, don't know how long this limbo is going to go on for.

PS - these change.org petitions don't mean shit to canadian authorities.
You’re quite right but COVID cases here are never going to “fall” to “acceptable” levels as vaccination has a long way to go, nor will there be another big lockdown. They have shut direct routes, asking for double vaccinations and negative tests. That should be enough. If the EU can open itself to India then Canada surely can, after all, India is the largest source of immigrants and students to Canada. They can’t shut us out forever.

Hi All,

I am a PR of Canada since 2018 and my Fiance has her PR application in progress - FSW-O. The AOR is Nov 2020 and we haven't had an update in the profile since January.

If we get married, before she gets her COPR, will her cumulative points change? I know the points go down for adding the spouse but I guess the points don't change in case the Spouse is a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident?

Thanks!

I believe they combine, at least that's what I saw the Agent doing in my Notes's comments.
Thank you very much. This gives me hope that they probably made an error and will correct it. Meanwhile I will try to get another experience letter to submit to the web form, in case the first one did not match their needs.
