Argh! I applied on August 2nd 2108 so I guess I fall in the biometrics group! Is there anyone else who applied after 31st July who has had to give biometrics recently? Do you think they will issue PR without biometrics given the extraordinary situation? One can hope...

Hey I applied for my PR around the same time as you. Have you heard anything from IRCC recently?

Have you tried contacting your MP again?
Yes, we talk from time to time, last - 2 weeks ago. IRCC said they are waiting for security check, it depends on other agency so they can not do anything about it, no dead lines. My lawyer advised me to renew my work permit few weeks before expiration date and wait.

My CBSA notes are late, I had this e-mail few days ago:

We will require an additional 30 days beyond the initial 30 days specified in the Privacy Act to respond
to your request due to high volume of requests currently being processed by our institution. This
extension is in accordance with paragraph 15(a)(i) of the Privacy Act. The extension is necessary as
meeting the original time limit would unreasonably interfere with the operations of the institution.

Hi there,
So we are in same boat.

Biometrics collection is mandatory for all foreign nationals between the ages of 14 and 79 who are applying for, claiming or requesting temporary residence (excluding United States [U.S.] nationals), permanent residence or refugee protection.

Just wondering how much time will it take after biometric? What will be the next step? Thanks!

Outland Applicants (Me, spouse and child)
PR application submitted on Feb 2020.

Hello, we have received our official AR and biometrics request. Our application is for 3 (2 adults and 1 child of 2 years old), however, we received biometrics request for 2 adults only. I would like to know why we did not received the request for our child, i.e. normally biometrics is not required for children, or we missed something in our application. Thank you!

What month/year?
There are 3 or 4 cases received PAL and MR.
It seems those who recieved both PAL and MR are from first week of(last week of Jan.) issuance of AORs and those who recieved only PAL are from second week.

Some are from december, some from august and some from November, 2019.

November 2019 is surprising indeed. I am hoping they will finalize all 2018 and 19 cases by mid this year and then start with 2020 ones.

Ya seems like it.
Apparently, there is a one case of AoR from January 2020.

Only problem is background and security check. Let's hope it gets faster.

Hi guys, Is it gonna cause any problem to our QSW PR application if we apply for Express entry CEC program (before ITA)? I know once you receive an ITA then you have to withdraw one application.

Good. Hope they start following FIFO soon and clear the humongous backlog fast. Quebec applicants have been traumatized left and right by its government first and then abandoned by IRCC as well.
Hey, by the way do you know why some applications from 2018, stucked at security check while 2019 applications started getting DMs.??

A person heard from their lawyer that the 2018 applications for QSWP were all made on paper. These papers are in the IRCC office and cannot be accessed by the agents because they are working from home. Many of the applications are being scanned so that agents can evaluate them remotely. This is why things have slowed down.

Sounds credible to me, so I thought I'd share.
Hi,
That lawyer seems speculating prematurely.
If this is true and agents are not being able to access the files from home than what's the point of creating a GCMS case which is accessible globally by IRCC agents.??

To my understanding, they work on that GCMS case and not papers once the R10 completness check is done.

And they don't necessarily need an access to schedule-A form to do security or background check. They would rather ask applicant to upload it on portal and forward it to the responsible agency (which seems CSIS to me).

So where is the actual blunder at IRCC or at CSIS.??

If not both than it must be at applicant's native country or visited country.
