Yeah delay is the only negative impact.
I had informed them via webform and gotten a kit full of questionaires and documents requested of my spouse. He was added to the application as a dependent and his passport was requested for. my passport was requested for , to cancel the first COPR and visa. Now it's been almost one year. I still haven't gotten my passport back, while his passport was sent back with no visa.
To clarify my timeline:
- On 16th Jan 2020 I got my VISA and CoPR valid till July 14, 2020
- On 16th Jan 2020, I informed via webform of the change in my marital status. and we did an upfront medical for my spouse on Jan 25th.
- On Feb 4th, I received the request letter on my application to complete a questionnaire and other documents of my spouse and to resubmit my passport and COPR for cancellation of my first Visa.
- On Feb 27th, my husband's biometrics request was received and it was completed on Feb 29th, 2020.
- On 28th Feb 2020, I submitted my passport to VFS Pune. on 03rd March, 2020 Passport reached the IRCC office New Delhi.
- On March 18th, 2020 I received an email stating that my spouse was added to my application and his passport and photographs were needed.
- We submitted his Passport to VFS Pune on 19th March 2020. Passport received at IRCC office, New Delhi on 2020/03/23
Post lockdown. (There was 0 action for the rest of 2020) Which means my medicals and first COPR expired.
- On Jan 6th, 2021 we received a call from the High commission Canada that we will be getting both our passports back and will have to take our medical exam again, and then our passports will be requested for again.
- On Jan 18th, 2021 we got a letter on our application for Medical request. On Jan 19th, we completed our medical.
- On Jan 21st, our online application was updated that 'We passed our medical exam'
- On Jan 22nd, my husband's passport was delivered back with No visa.
My passport is still not delivered and the tracking website says that it is still with the IRCC.
