Does the passport needs to have 6 month or 12 month validity on final decision?

I received a request letter from IRCC today ask for a copy of the new passport as my dad’s passport will expire in the next 12 months. Anyone with similar experience? Is that mean our case is likely “approved”? All the background check, criminal check etc. are all passed? How long does it take to PPR after submitting the updated passport? Any experience? Thanks everyone.

We are the same, got letter asking to renew passport, which sucks cause my fathers passport is good for 8 more months. When we get one, should we copy all pages again or just front page?

The letter did not say all pages so I am assuming first page is fine? As they should know this is a new passport and nothing is on it? Your thoughts?

@laxsun on Saturday October 31, Ecas showed Decision Made for Principal Applicant. No extra line has been added yet though. The last line in there states medical received. Also, no update yo mycic yet either.

Wait for PPR that will show up in MyCIC.

Hi,

I have situation here and seeking some guidance or if someone also had similar one before.

I have already applied PR for my parents and just waiting on decision as since Mar, all other formalities are completed and expecting passport to be requested for VISA stamping. Currently, my parents are in India but I am planning to have them here in Canada in November, I am anti-cipating that CIC will ask VISA in next 2-3 weeks for VISA which will jeopardize the travel plans.

So, I am asking, if I can update the status in application for future travel using webform if they can be here in Canada so they won't ask VISA stamping in India rather in Canada after they arrive here.

I have a little situation and I need help if anybody has any suggestions. My parents file was received by CIC onJune 20 and I was approved as an eligible sponsor. We got biometric request and were never able toget them done as the offices closed back in March. However, it is still closed and our file is stuck at NDVO. I am planning to get them here on visitor visa but can they give biometrics here? Or will they accept one given at airport for entry to Canada. is it possible to transfer their file from NDVO to here once they get here?
Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

You cannot ask for a transfer of their file. Visa office is allocated based on processing capacity.

Please provide me with your file details so i can update the tracker including, in process date, decision made date and biometric request date.

Hi Everyone,

Last Friday on Oct 30th, CPC Mississauga sent me two emails one addressing me (Sponsor) and second addressing my father (Principal applicant) asking for more documents.

@YULIA-2016 , please, update my timeline.

1. Sponsor: They are asking for my current Canadian and old Indian passport

2. Principal Applicant:
i. Proof of Relationship: Principal Applicant (father) and spouse's (Mother) Aadhaar card, Voter ID card, old Indian passports
ii. CV/Resume: In depth resume of Principal Applicant and spouse containing adequate details of employment and professional history from the age of 18.
iii. Travel History: Send the new complete IMM5562

I have already sent my parents CV/Resume showing the details of their current address, education starting from Primary school, high school and University. I showed my father's self employment and employment history for last 10 years because at that time, they only required last 10 years of employment history. And, now they want to know what they have done from the age of 18!! I'm not sure what more details they want?

Also, my mother is a homemaker and she has never worked after her university and marriage. I am not sure what specific details to include as her employment info.

They gave me 90 days (28/01/2021) from now to submit all these documents to CPC Mississauga. Does it mean its the last stage of their immigration and we will hear positive news soon? Has anyone got this kind of request recently from them?

Hello guys,
Finally, we got the COPR for my parent today.

Application received on Apr 30, 2019.
DM made on Principal applicant on Oct 28, 2020

My parents are in Canada and I had told IRCC about that. We did not get any call or email to confirm the address like some other people got. ECAS status is complete.

Here are the ECAS enteries:
Permanent Residence

1. We received your application for permanent residence on April 30, 2019.
2. We started processing your application on October 26, 2020. (This is wrong. It was started in June sometime. My parent's file got cancelled due to administrative error. This is the date when they fix the error and created a new application)
3. We sent you medical instructions on September 12, 2019. To avoid delays, please provide us the information requested in the letter as soon as possible. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
4. Medical results have been received. (This line appeared on March 04, 2020. It took 9 month to pass the medical. I had to seek the help from the MP)
5. We sent you correspondence on August 21, 2020. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required. (This was the RCMP finger print request as my parents stayed in Canada for around 3 years)
6. You entered Canada at the Etobicoke IRCC office on October 28, 2020 and became a Permanent Resident.

Just wanted to update that I have received the CoPR in myCIC account as well. Here's the timeline (Address Confirmation to CoPR):

Oct 17: Client information Requested via email to check current residential address. We provided the information on same day.
Oct 24: MyCIC Application updated with message that additional information received. Review started.
Oct 26 (morning): ECAS Status: Decision Made for PA. MyCIC Status: Submitted
Oct 26 (evening): ECAS Status: "Complete" and line added for landed in Etobicoke. MyCIC Status: "Approved" and Document Status section added with CoPR information (but no document)
Oct 27: CoPR document received via E-mail
Nov 02: CoPR document available for download on MyCIC too.

We got the COPR email today.

Are you in Ontario? What did you use for the address proof for OHIP? thanks..

They can stay in the same house as you, separate bathroom is preferred. Your plan needs to specify they you will supply them with all the meals and they will stay in one room with a separate bathroom for their use.

Hi guys please help,

My parents application was received June 18,2019 and is in process for both side since February 07,2020. They are here in Toronto and we requested GCMS note after one month came back without any new information. It just show last update was Feb 07 and" SPR eligibility is not started"
And SA's met for: "blank" status: not started.

I was thinking our application stuck in SSA check as my husband was a cosigner and sponsored in the past, but apparently it's not.

Any thoughts or experience on why there is no progress? !?

The application was received on June 24,2019. That is the update came on December 2019. No news after that so far.
