Changing Employer after Application Submission

Hello,

I need some advice from seniors. My PR application is to be submitted soon and I have a following questions:

I'm applying through CEC and claiming points for 1 year guaranteed work after PR will be granted (supported by Job Offer). I'm also planning to get BOWP as well.

So my question is what is going to happen if I will decide to change my job and current employer while PR application in process? Should I ask for new Job Offer supported by LMIA (for this 1 year after obtaining of PR) from new potential employer and then submit this changes IRCC? Is it somehow risky and it's better to wait till getting PR? Any other things to consider here?

Please advise.

Thanks

If you are claiming 50 points for having a job offer, then you'll lose these points if you switch jobs. Either wait until you are a PR before you switch jobs. Or don't claim the 50 points for the job you have now.

So you mean that even new job offer which will be supported by new LMIA will not be helpful and i will lose it anyways? New offer will not restore them?

You are aware that LMIA take fairly long right? If you're lucky enough to find a employer willing to go that way.

Of course I do. I’m on work permit now. However it took around 2 months through Global Talent Stream so I would not say that it was awfully long. COVID slowed things down for sure but anyways we are not talking about years.
I just want to make sure if this would allow me to to reclaim this points from new Job offer supported by new LMIA. Can you (or someone) confirm this?

I’ve never encountered this before but sounds risky. Are you sure you’d want to risk your PR application by modifying it post AOR?

You would have to update your application, or have a new LMIA ready when you decide to make the switch.

But you shouldn't have any time in between where you are not eligible. I'm pretty sure they will perform a background check on this for sure. It is not stated anywhere explicitly, but it's kind of logical that if you no longer have the offer your apply with you will no longer be able to keep those points, because you were given those points for a specific offer.

You will most certainly have to resubmit your application and start over from scratch.

Either switch jobs before applying, and then do it; or wait to get your PR before applying.
