On similar notes, just wanted to confirm, I have my eligibility as passed but my security not initiated. Does it mean when an officer or I am not sure whosoever responsible for my security looks at my file, they will again be assessing my eligibility or is it passed for good?
For good!

When you say your eligibility is passed, are you saying it has been passed by an officer and that you have an officer's note for eligibility in your GCMS notes which is similar to the one in the link above.

When the eligibility is passed, it will not be looked again. In the security, entirely different things happen and have no relation to eligibility.

To read on how security is done or to read the security screening manual used by cBSA, see https://bit.ly/2RAqmdj

Hi all,

how are we managing the long wait?. Please I need suggestions on very affordable tertiary universities in canada. I know this is totally off the topic of this group but I feel some people here know a thing or two about universities/polytechnics in canada.
I am trying to check for schools for my brothers as they plan to come over for their education later in 2022. However, I’m not looking into high ended schools. Just good schools that get the work done. So if there’s anybody here that can help, I will be glad (course of study engineering: electrical/civil)
Also preferably in the English speaking part of Canada.
Thanks

First of all, thank you so much for answering my query. Secondly, I did see your post earlier and I did not find this note. However, my eligibility was recommended pass on 29th January and then on 23rd March I had my ADR status change to NA. I then applied for GCMS and found out that my eligibility was passed on 23rd of March. I then raised a webform and I repeated the words in it about my eligibility as being met and background check in process to which I was clarified that it is not just met, it has been passed and that background verifications are in progress because criminality is passed and security is left. So, I am assuming that this means my eligibility is passed for good now. I ask this because in my country, the CAD has risen again PKR so much that my original amount may now be less than the required funds limit by say a few 100 dollars.

Two things,

1. The eligibility is only passed after a final determination by an officer. Do you see the officer's note in your GCMS. The link I shared, https://bit.ly/2RAqmdj, there is a sample note with the officer's review, that is what I am referring to.

2. As regards PoF, IRCC has clarified that it is the exchange rate as on the date of filing your E-APR which will be taken into account and if there is too much fluctuation, the officer will contact the applicant to provide an updated PoF, this was clarified on the twitter handle of IRCC:

A more recent responses given in 2019:

Hope this helps!

Thank you for such a detailed reply. This gives me alot of relief. Let me check my gcms notes again and see if I can find this note anywhere in it.

Having gone through the GCMS notes, I found out the recommended pass note on 27th January. That was when I received ADR for IMM 5406. But through other sections, the Eligibility status changed to pass on 23rd March 2020.

Do you have an officer's note for eligibility. Compare your note with the samples at the end of the post at https://bit.ly/2Ehx0BZ

The note reads Case analyst - recommended pass. But the main note reads eligibility passed so it means that my eligibility will still be reviewed by a third officer.
