This is a generic template, and everyone receives almost the same response.

We also called last week and were told to fill out the web form... we got the same generic copy/paste message. It's becoming so frustrating and I can't imagine how some of you that have been waiting 28 months feel.... :( Next month it'll be 2 years and they initially told us it would be 12.
When I spoke to the CIC agent, she literally said that she didn't understand why our file had not been processed. Normally they're a little bit more objective in their choice of words and relating info but she did not understand what the hold up was. We ordered the GCMS notes back in March, got them in April and didn't get any further clarity on our file... it's almost like it's been forgotten by the agent but it's reassuring to read comments here and know that we're not alone.

Wishing everyone lots of luck as the days go by... it's not like we can travel anyways but it would just be nice if we can have everything finalized ASAP... especially since they are now only starting to process files from April 2019... why do they take on new files if they haven't finished the pending ones?? We have a friend that just got his citizenship since it was scheduled for March. Very cool how they do it virtually and we're thrilled for our friend. However, why does the government take time to set up virtual meetings with 2-3 government workers to issue citizenship but agents can't finalize PR files that have been pending for over 2 years? Guessing they must be different divisions but it would be nice if the PR files could be prioritized a bit more and we wouldn't get copy/paste templates when we e-mail them!

Take care all and I hope we get some responses soon!
:)

Hi guys, I brought very good news. I just received my landing email, and I'm officially a permanent resident!

I received DM Monday and today I received the email informing me that my application is now complete and I'm now PR.

I would like to thank you guys for all the support that you gave to me, answering my questions and sharing information to help each other.

I hope everyone else here gets PR very soon!

I'll be around checking the posts, I'd like to see you all sending good news too! :)

That is exaclty what happen with us... got completely forgot for 17 months. By ordering my notes I saw that the agent open our files for the FIRST time on aug 2019 and we are march 2018 applicant. Yes we receive medical csq and police in the first 5 months but it was ' automatic ' and not asked by the agent that take care of our files. So the agent look into our files and made a resumer for the first time aug 8 2019. This day he validate the medical , the police certificate and wrote that he was not satisfied with the relation proof so he asked for more. Why did they wait so long to do that ? only god knows. Now we had receive all the important letter, SA , AIP , PRE ARRIVAL ( 2 months ago ) and they are still making us wait. This is the most inhuman thing I never experience.

WOWWWWW!!! I am so sorry for you both and the experience you must be going through is tough... the government needs to do better and not treat our cases like we're robots. We're real human beings with lives. I know the system can't be perfect but it's been very long!!!! Are you applying outland or inland? if outland, it must be pure torture not to be with your partner. I'm counting my blessings that my spouse has a work permit until February 2021... so it's just a matter of waiting. I know someone that applied under the spousal program like us in June 2018 and he got his PR in NOVEMBER 2019! He also paid to have a lawyer, so I'm guessing that can help accelerate the process. Regardless, it's still not fun for us.

People on twitter are freaking out: Some people are angry and they only have files from 2019... imagine us who have been waiting for over 2 years now... at least we can support each other here and exchange info!

We are inland applicant with lawyers and believe me they did not help AT ALL. They keep repeating us that IRCC don't like pressure and they did NOTHING till nov 2019 when they finnaly accept to send a webform for an update request. By doiing that we learned that our case have been on hold for 4 months becaus they made a mistake on the reprensatative form and they had to send it back. If I had discover this forum before applying i would have done it by my self !! So 17 months is IRCC fault, 4 months is our lawer fault like we need this !!!!

I know my husband is here with me but how can we live a normal life if every day since 28 months we live in the fear of a refusal or if we had to start from the beginning with all the fees and the stress !!! My husband work permit expire on jully 24 2020, so we had to renew and pay another 350$ so close to the end.
we tried to soften them and tell them ' look, we are waiting since so long, is there anyway possible way to complete our case before the expiration of the permit ' and they said with a 'non-gentle' tone ' no we cant garantee an answer befor july 24 so you have de renew '

Totally ridiculous that they made you guys pay another $350... you're contributing to the work force and our society... I really hope for your sakes that the file will be completed soon! I just find it crazy that they make the time for citizenship ceremonies but aren't processing our PR files. The public is also annoyed with the fact that the government is processing immigration files but I feel it's very unfair for people that are inland or even outland that have been waiting a long time to be reunited with their loved ones.
I hope that you and your husband can start to live normally with the PR soon... I try to remind myself to be positive and be thankful that my husband is here and that he can work. We have another friends that are a couple that just applied for the PR in March... they'll certainly be waiting a long time for the work permit and the CSQ, so we're a bit lucky in a way? It's not easy for anyone and some cases are worse than others. Hopefully this rough period will be over soon!

Strongly agree, finding a lawyer and representative is a waste of money and energy! We also hired a representative who didn’t even know that the immigration bureau did not see the marriage certificate! It was only after we ordered gcms ourselves that we discovered the clue! Representatives are useless except for collecting money! We spent a lot of money and had to solve the problem ourselves.

Are you kidding me?? That's TERRIBLE!!!! I hope you made a complaint about this representative and reported them. Would be a good idea to also fill out a form to remove them from your file... that way they won't be able to access your file legally anymore. Agree with you that in many cases it's a waste of $ to get a representative... we got an immigration consultant and he was horrible! He tried to screw us over and didn't have us fill out the open work permit documents. So we legit waited 3 months thinking that the forms had been filled out with our PR application but they hadn't. I discovered this randomly one night while I was reading info on this forum. After figuring this out, we filled out the paperwork and submitted. It took 3 months to process, so we waited 6 MONTHS for my husband's work permit because of that stupid immigration consultant. Needless to say, I reported him. He also didn't have us fill out the CSQ documents in advance and probably would have charged us more $ to complete a few pages. He also didn't make our application on-line, which I'm wondering now if it's causing issues that the application isn't digital. I created our on-line account back in November 2019 but it sucks that we didn't know this from the get-go.
Very sorry that you guys had to spend so much $ and didn't get much help. I hope the rest of your journey goes more smoothly; we're all here to support if anything!

I think they do on purpose not to reveal any exact dates since they seem to have a limited # of staff working on all the files... :(

Hi @Nina99 !!!

Thank you so much for your words, it's very kind of you.

I keep checking the forum from time to time, and I hope very much that your application, as well as the application of others here, will be completed soon.

I know that it's hard to be on the waiting line without any response or idea of where in the process we are, but if I can give you a word of comfort, silence is not that bad, because if there is something wrong with an application IRCC would tell us and give time to react.

From now its a matter of time until they finalize your application. Most of the pending steps that I saw on my CIC account were already done long ago but they did not update it.

I wish all of you that your applications end soon, and I will be here to congratulate you.

All the best!

André
