Hi guys,

I just got ITA under CEC program.

I just noticed that "have at least 1 year of skilled work experience in Canada, in the last 3 years before you apply"

I have four work experience.

A. 2017.03-2017-05
B. 2017.10-2018.02
C. 2018.03-2018.09
D. 2019.01-2019.11

I was gonna use the first three because I have a hard time to contact the last employer now. However, I just found out the first work experience is already exceed three years. Does it mean I have to use the last two work experience combination?

Thank you!

The system automatically knows if you are eligible or not.
If you got ita and can prove everything you claimed points for - you are fine.

You're mixing up 2 things. To qualify for Canadian Experience Class you have to have had one full year of work experience in Canada (at least 12 months, etc., etc.) C and D above are enough.

To get CRS points for Canadian work experience skilled work within the past 10 counts:

Canadian work experience
(3) For the purposes of this section, Canadian work experience is work experience that
  • (a) is acquired by a foreign national in Canada in one or more occupations listed in Skill Type 0 Management Occupations or Skill Level A or B of the National Occupational Classification matrix;
  • (b) consists of full-time work experience, or the full-time equivalent for part-time work experience, with one or more employers;
  • (c) is acquired within the 10-year period preceding the day on which points are assigned to the foreign national under subsection (1); and
  • (d) is remunerated by the payment of wages or a commission.
If you count all of your work, it looks like you would get CRS points for 2 years. If you don't count A, you would get points for only 1 year of work.

Thanks for your reply. The reason I want to use A, B and C is because I have a hard time contacting my employer for job D. I need her to sign my employment letter and also be my reference in case CIC called her to confirm my job. This is the reason I want to avoid it. While job A was three years ago, from 2017.03-2017-05, so I am wondering if this job is ok to be used.

You can use A for your total work experience, but not to qualify for CEC, because it is more than 3 years old. You need employer D.
This is what I think. But the weird thing is I have put A,B,C job experience only into my EE profile and got drawn. My immigration consultant told me it is valid to use these three work experiences because the system issue me ITA based on these three work experiences. I am confused.

The system rounds up, but if you have not qualified and the system gives you an ITA which you act upon without actually qualifying (due to rounding error) YOU will be held responsible.
