1. Did you sign the physical COPR document (IRCC Copy) before sending or send it as it is?
No, I didn't.
2. You only send the IRCC copy or client copy as well?
I sent both.
3. Also, did you send any extra photo or the photo which is on the IRCC copy is enough?
I sent one extra. I don't need to use the other photo anyways.

Hello,

May I know if you have received the PR card?

Has your mother received a spot on a repatriation flight. Demand is high and your mother’s priority would be low as someone who has been living in India permanently and is only landing in Canada for the first time. People who are only on vacation or already PRs and citizens will be given priority.
Hi, yepp, you are spot on @canuck78 ! :) Thanks for responding!

Moreover, with Mom's CoPR having expired on 19 May, its also a chicken and egg story! Cannot seek a seat on the Vande flights with expired CoPR (I do not wish to state incorrect info to Air India at the time of booking Vande flight). And without a flight confirmed it would be dishonest to state ability to travel to IRCC.

Biggest hurdle of course is VFS India is not yet opened to facilitate passport re-stamping. Although, New Delhi Visa Office is on partial service.

My spouse who is secondary applicant on our application is unable to travel canada before our COPR expires in July. Does anyone know what happens if only primary applicant lands first and the COPR expires ? Its risky in current situation to leave job in home country and then travel, Hence we are thinking of going one person at a time and look for a job. Any suggestions welcome.. My spouse was supposed to be transferred to a job through internal transfer via his employer in april , but due to COVID they have put hold on all transfers. It is unlikely for it to be lifted before August as per company policy.

Assuming you have already considered the below - what is the hurdle you see?
  • Both of you performing your Landing
  • Your spouse takes 10 working days leave from work - then returns back home (provided flight/leave etc are feasible)
  • If that is NOT feasible, Your spouse works remotely from Canada for 14 days (well 10 working days). Then returns back
  • If even that is not possible, the: this option. Which is highly 'unadvised' you must think deep and do your research + expert opinions (mine is not)
    • Both of you land. You obviously have your clear honest quarantine plan
    • Your husband returns from the airport within the next few hours on the first flight
    • Experts might opine about airside restrictions - and they may be correct (means you have confirmed your CoPRs/immigration check point and hence technically although you are still at the airport - you are 'in Canada'). I do not know and cannot conclude whether it is allowable for your spouse NOT to quarantine.
    • There are several other opinions in this thread, equally advocating, that you are fine to take the next flight back - as long as you did 'not leave the airport'.
      • Is that 100% proper? - who knows CBSA perspective!!
      • Is that practically feasible given the new world pushing every government on earth to rethink every immigration practice? - again - such a hard thing. Given all the time, money, dreams and emotions both of you have put into Canada - the best place on Earth!
I wish you and your spouse the very best of judgement call @rex230 !

Regards
Nav

Hi All - Whether anyone was able to reach Client Support Centre agents ? Is there any specific options which are available ? I was trying to reach them through the case inquiry option. I was not even able to reach the wait queue. Thanks

Hi Nav,
yes that's corect. My parents visa has expired. But I am asking these questions because I see some people are flying from India to Toronto. They live in mumbai so will have to take domestic flight to delhi. We are confused now.. we still do not know if flights are working and if they are are the visa offices in india open to ask for extension. Or should we wait even longer. The air india repatriation flight prices are very high too. what are your plans? when did your visa expire?
Hi Neeti,

Thanks for responding!

Mom's visa expired on 19 May. And yes, perhaps you are also holding your breath for - as much for parents arrival logistics/CoPR extension - as for their safety either in Mumbai or during the flight!

I can't think of any other way but to now wait for:
  • IRCC re-opening the file (status currently shows - Application Approved and Document Expired
  • VFS offices to open in Mumbai (me for Hyderabad)
  • IRCC / New Delhi Visa Office asking us to submit passports
  • Upon the above - jump on booking flights on the currently cancelled tickets (I currently have two cancelled tickets from different airlines)
  • Sit and have Mom's first cooked meal in Toronto, with her :)
Regards
Nav

Can we do a soft-landing and return back with the next flight is there such an option. Or a mandatory quarantine is required?
Well, before you even head to the immigration counter they make you fill out that contact tracing form with all the quarantine details. So, not entirely sure if they will let you do that considering that the next flight back to the US will most likely be in the next day.

Hello ,

May I know if you have received your PR card?
No, I haven't yet. I linked my PR card application to my IRCC account, and there is no update.
As of May 19, the processing time for first PR card is 113 days, so we'll only start seeing some card probably by August.
