Hi Seniors,

I am a PR in Canada and planning to move to Australia on a spouse visa. Can I transfer my Credit History or score to Australia. If yes,is the process and documentation.

Best Regards

I HIGHLY doubt it. I've never ever heard of credit scores following people to other countries. The idea itself is rather absurd - different countries have different methods of calculation and use different scales. So, no, I don't think your Canadian credit score will follow you to Australia.

Hi Seniors,

I have a related query. If I leave Canada for few years but I dont want to spoil the existing credit history.(just incase I want return and resettle)

So what should I do to maintain my credit status?

-Totally payoff all credit cards and loans before leaving?.will that leave my credit score in status-quo whenever i come back.

-Have some kind of ongoing expenses on credit card to be "live" in the credit bureau system?

-Is there any process of reporting the credit bureau agencies so preserve my present status?

Why would you want to keep credit card balances unpaid? It will grow more debit interest and financial fees! Doesn't make sense! What if you forgot to pay before the due date? If you want to keep the credit card, why don't you just payoff and then use the card in your new country?

You can apply for american express and then do global transfer. That's about it. Your full history would not transfer
