Ah ok. I thought the AOR was when they officially opened it (may be wrong), so I would imagine it would be after that. Interested to see what happens. Our app was fine as far as I know so hope they don't send it back for something strange.

Has anyone’s application been returned? Our application was received December 12th but we did not include a NOA and so we are expecting it to be returned but haven’t got it back yet. I thought the usual time for return was 2-5 weeks. We’re getting to that point now but still nothing. Did any December applicants get theirs returned yet and if so what was the length of time between CIC receiving and returning your application.
Someone from Nov group got their file returned after 53 days.

Update for those interested lol – I called CIC this mooring and was told that a temporary file was created on January 9th and my application was marked complete so it likely will not be returned. However, the agent reviewing it may ask for additional docs (like my NOA) later on in the process. They also said that my application has not started processing yet it’s just been marked complete so the wait for the AOR continues. I’ve heard not to take everything CIC agents say at face value but I am now cautiously optimistic that my application won’t be returned.

So got my app returned today because of a missing signature for my Open work permit. No where does it say I have to sign it, I only electronically signed it. Everything else was there that they needed. So another $45 to send it out. They couldnt just email me and be like we need you to sign the OWP and email it back? Waiting game continues.

Yeah that sounds like good news. I heard there has been a major push by the Canadian government to stop applications being sent back for reasons such as a missing document.

I am also waiting as well. I submitted my husbands application initially in October, it was sent back in November because I missed a few and also some details on one form. Sent it back in November. Still waiting for AOR. I don’t have a way of tracking the application. I was starting to think maybe it got missing or something.

hi. i have applied for my wife inland sponsorship. she is with me in Canada on a visit visa
Time line is :

Application sent: Dec 1st, 2019
Mail delivered: Dec 3rd, 2019

Did anyone has tried to link the mailed application online after mailing it? i tried it today i.e Jan 5th, 2020 and it is unable to link , as no record found

Anyone has received any letter from Immigration acknowledging the application?

Hi ,

I am applying for spouse sponsorship and have filled all the forms according to the checklist.

I am trying to figure out what is the separate open Work permit application I need to fill along with the PR sponsorship?

I cannot see it in the spousal checklist.

is it just the one mentioned in IMM 5556 ?

https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/ircc/migration/ircc/english/pdf/kits/forms/imm5556e.pdf

My husband is in a closed work permit right now but I think we can apply for OPW too as his CWP will end in June.
In the form imm 5710 what should be the option, we have to tick -

1. Apply for a work permit with the same employer

2. Applying for a work permit for the first time with a new employer.

3. Restore my status as a worker

4. Get a new temporary resident permit

hey, how were you able to get them(agent on the phone) to look for your file, without AOR?
