Has anyone have successfully extended medicals without redoing it ?. I received my PRR in December and immediately raised a web Form requesting for extension. No reply so we called IRCC and two agents confirmed that extension would be impossible. we had sent our passports for visa stamping and got them back stamped. We immediately resigned from our job and started packing. We were about to book a flight.. Yesterday, AFTER MORE THAN A MIN SINCE WE SENT THE WEBFORM, we received a reply to our webform that extension has been granted and if remedicals are required they would let us know in due course. It has been a week NO sign. I am just disappointed. How much time does it take for a new COPR to be received?
Please share all your experiences as I am desperate

There is no "standard" processing time for a COPR extension, as they are very rare occurrences. The first problem is that the Visa Office has to request a medical extension from the RMC, which may or may not be granted. This alone will take time. It's not up to the Visa Office to grant the medical extension. How much time did your COPR have before the expiry date when you physically received it?

2 months. What is RMC?
Regional Medical Centre.

Two months? I'm extremely surprised that they even considered an extension. If had been two weeks, maybe...

You will just have to wait for the next update from the Visa Office. You could have done a "soft landing" if you were not yet ready to make the full move.

I am extremely lost as to what to do except waiting which is hard. When we requested, it was an enquiry and the least they could have done was to get back to us first before they cancel the visa! It has been more than a month since we sent the webform. The two agents seemed confident that there would be no extension. Now that I have lost my job I am afraid I will lose the opportunity to go to Canada

You could send another Web Form to ask for an update. Apart from that, your options are extremely limited.
It's too late for alternative recommendations in your specific case but generally, if you have 2 months before expiry, get on the first practical flight and do the soft landing.

How could I do a soft landing? The visa is still on my passport but the agent said that it has been cancelled since the extension request has been granted.

You can't now. The second part was general advice for others reading the thread.
Your passport(s) will need to be returned to the Visa Office for a new VISA and a new COPR.

(On the A105 document that came with my CoPR back in 2013, it clearly stated on page 2 that the COPR would not be extended, in big bold capitals. Did you not receive this or an equivalent document?)

So we requested for extending medicals! Sorry I should have said that not COPR extension. Let me rectify the mistake
