There os no guarentee to have the application completed within 12 months. IRCC stated that their GOAL is to have 80% of applications completed within a 12 month time frame. I know the waiting is hard but some things are beyond our control. Can you imagine what the officers at the VO feel like with all the applications theyre getting to process from ALLLLL over? When we applied it was an 18 month wait. We set out expectations to 2 yeArs so we werent disappointed when 18 months came and went. We didnt go past 13 months. We cant really speculate what is causing the delay other than knowing theyre responsible for processing several countries apps and are swamped. Sucks but it is what it is at this point

I know there's not but should be more clear tho when you start , had the apprehension it was to be over the 12 months too with Mexico included but ... they always say "oh your app is straight forward " and at Sydney they were telling it was surely to be done by December 2019... it's like cmon guys if you know how backlogged is the VO , don't tell that at least.

Ppl are having enough to deal with their life on stand by than been told those things.

I know it's not easy for officers but it's them to ask for more ressources ,we can't do for them nor gov will listen to us anyway so.

Why are they making us passing the medical that sooner if we are just to be sent months away to VO... is all those decisions that is putting ppl into frustration paying and paying and paying again. Our medical expire in April 2020.... starting to have doubt about if it's gonna be ended or not with all this.

The call center agents ARE NOT visa officers and have very little insight to the applications. They shouldnt really be commenting on processing time and what they say should be taken with less than a grain of salt.

our medicals expired during the process and they extended the validity. This happens to many people as well.

it definitely is tough to have to wait and stuff but really it is beyond our control. I really think that youre wasting energy trying to figure out their system and stuff and getting upset. We all know that it sucks and trying to make rhyme or reason of their system i think will never happen. What i would do is reinvest the energy into looking into things for when spouse gets here. My husband spoke and still speaks no english. I looked up where to go for a language assessment then the different schools and options to learn, job agencies, got some clothes for him for the winter, looked st health insurance coverage before he got provincial coverage, different things so that when he got here we were prepared.

We have already started all those things in prepared, even brought from my last trip an extra luggage of clothes to help when she arrived. For the rest we have to wait for comparative exam on CSQ to know which level she is considered in here. she's doctor and have seal there doctorat level and into residence specialisation there.

Voice of reason. It is what it is. And bear in mind too, that agents don't always have the best equipment or technology. There are reports of agents having in the Mexico office having to reboot several times a day. Not their fault they don't have the best tools or equipment, but they are getting the brunt of the stress. We all just need to be patient and courteous.

Thats great. I really think you need to just focus your energy elsewhere. Nothing you do will help speed up the process. Its difficult being away from spouses but honestly, so many others are going through it too.

I know it's a bunch of ppl and systems are not that great but What frustrate me is unless i find ways to go, there's no way she can enter as visit. Is def unfair

We have tried once and they denied it.

So idk but is not that easy at the moment. We try to keep in touch regular and seeing each other during year the most we can cause i can afford it but is not always the case, i would take this break too as knowing she's allowed to visit and go.

We don't have the option of asking for a Visitor one and waiting the PR inland they will never allow it.

She's wasting her time in her country for a specialisation she will never finish and she knows, so the more time it takes it makes it tougher to keep motivation there and i understand her completely on it.

Had hopes for the "around a year" process but the more i see things , ugh... sounds more like 14-16 months

unfair as it is we chose to marry people in another country. Just like the distance sucks, the waiting to get them here sucks too. We knew what we were getting into when we started our relationship. Even now, my husband spends about 5-6 months out of country travelling to play baseball and it sucks. We have two babies now and its not easy but ill tell you the wait was completely worth it!

You can apply for a vv again as there is nothing stopping you from Applying , however if an interview is required shell need to go back and do it there.

They say to reapply ONLY if the situation have changed A LOT and the only ground the office mentioned was "based on travel history"

Of course she doesn't have a big one She's 31 and been studying a lot of years) ! ! We went to Roatan and Guatemala together and always respected the entry back, it's like idk what they imagine it's 3rd world like most countries in similar, doctor or not they are not rich there. You think they have thousands to do flights on regular bases ?

I've received this as in Wow... you saying she can't travel to Canada cause she never did ? lol such brillant you guys. All the other grounds were covered and accepted. Purpose of trip , Link to Family in Canada all. (We were asking 5 weeks for xmas time..not that a big deal)

So we won't try to put another visitor visa knowing this ridiculous ground, that would be silly and adding another refusal to her case ? no way,.. Chances to get a visitor visa after a refusal are almost NONE.

Unless you suddenly super rich and you have been able to get a usa visa or something like that. Is whatever.

Id say its luck of the draw. My husband, his mom and brother were all approved. His mom and brother dont work and have no money and have never travelled before... all approved.
Either way it seems your mind is made up

best of luck on your journey and eventually your new chapter!

oh well i guess nice for you , but i don't have the same experience with Mexico so far

https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=422&top=16

How do I get help if my visa application is refused?
There is no formal appeal process if your application for a temporary resident visa is refused.

Should you wish to re-apply, you should do so only if your situation has changed substantively or you have significant new information to submit.

Sounds clear to me even if it was a mistake from the 1st officer. Anyway...

Just focus on getting prepared for her arrival, we made the choice when we all got married and knew it would not be easy. Figuring them out will never happen, I too am guilty of the frustration and the confusion, but I told myself its better to remain positive and go do other things. She will be here before you know it, so go get ready lol

I don't think you can get a visitor visa while the sponsorship process is underway. You can get rejected for pr and essentially claim asylum or try for inland sponsorship if you were to get a visitor visa.
