Has anyone else been successful attending a ceremony outside of their local area? I’ve been waiting for an invite since early September & asked if I could attend a ceremony in Halifax (about 3.5 hours away). IRCC told me that they couldn’t change my location until I have received an invitation to the oath ceremony. Since I’m pushing 14 months....I was hoping for a different answer. Doesn’t seem logical to me if I’m willing to drive.....?

They would reschedule that for you in a future date. In the case I know about, the new date was 4 months later, and the new invitation arrived by mail. The oath was then scheduled another 4 months after that. That was in Scarborough.
Just an update....received test invites for Jan. 20. That's 3 weeks after returning back to the country! Not bad!

I have a couple of questions about the test.

1 - During the test, do you keep the original documents with you, or somewhere else?
2 - What if it turns out that you did not bring one of the documents?

Thanks!

You can keep your backpack or envelope with you under the chair while giving the test.
2 - What if it turns out that you did not bring one of the documents?
They normally ask for passport ,PR card and driving license ,as first thing in interview ,and it depends on interview officer and your case
that if he wants to see any more documentation.
Thanks!

Is it fair that you take the place of someone who is within the area of the Halifax office. Many people are over the 14 month period and none of us are more important than another regardless of how long the application has been in process.

We did our test on December 10th at Mississauga. It’s getting close to being a month. We have heard anything and the status shows in progress. The wait is killing. Is this normal ? When should we expect any further movement ? Pray it happens soon. Thanks
We did our test on Nov 8th and status on ECAS has not changed, nothing to worry about and if they require any more information they will contact you.

I’m not sure I can answer that. Is it fair that someone with the exact same type application that I have was processed and completed in 10 months at the recently re-opened office in Charlottetown....while my application was started in Halifax, then transferred to Charlottetown when the office re-opened & is sitting at 14 months now? Is it fair that I was told I would be invited to the next ceremony in October & 4 have passed since then? I’m not trying to displace anyone, so please don’t suggest that is the case.

Congratulations for step near to Citizenship. In many post same situations were faced by our members, it will better to send web request as well as personal phone call on 6th January,2019. If you contact them from 8 AM of NS Atlantic time when EST time will be 7AM then waiting will be below 10 minutes.
Will you please share on which date you received email for test. Wish you all the success.
What is the phone number to call ?

Hi
What is the phone number to call ?
Jamdon24
Today I called customer care on 1 888 242 2100 exactly at 7am (EST) as the time in Nova Scotia was 8 am. Within 3 minutes call was matured and as usual representative told me that your case will be finalised within 12 months from the date of receipt of my application and one year of my application completes on 8th FEB 2020. I am from Brampton and as per rep my CPC is Scarborough. I have to keep patience.
