This means they open your application/they're doing something. Base on my experience.

I applied for my owp last September 22 (3months after I passed my application). Since they can't grant me owp yet til my aip, application is on pause/waiting. Right after I got my aip on dec 24, I sent my aip copy on the webform for them to process my owp asap. I checked on the same day around 5pm, there's a "application/profile Updated" for my work permit. Nothing updated. But today, December 27 they approved my owp finally and its says that on review of eligibility: "December 24, 2019 your eligibility has been reviewed. Please see final decision now".

I also experienced 2 ghost updates for my PR application.

I got my OWP before AIP. I haven't received AIP yet.

What I was trying to say was if your application gets that "application /profile update" most likely they're looking into your case.

Usually it takes 2-3 times you'll experience that ghost update until you get aip that's what I read and base on my experience.

I got a ghost update today as well, but my BGC started a month ago.

Ps. When the “BGC started” a month ago, I also noticed the “accounted updated” status change.

Exactly the same here, profile status says updated. Usually people got medical request before BGC so I’m a bit confused...

   APP received : Aug 1st
   AOR: Sept 2nd
   Med-Request: December 9th
   Med passed: December 19th
   Background Check started: January 1st
