Hi Ahadch3357,

Thanks for visiting this thread.

Nigerians make things happen, they do NOT wait for things to happen, they do not have that patience.

That is why many who are smart have started considering alternatives rather than waiting.

Finally, Canada is not interested in people who can make things happen, it is interested in people who like to wait for things to happen, hence very unlikely to put Nigeria on that list.

Cheers

SDS is expanding
China, India, Vietnam, Philippines were already on the list
Then, Pakistan was added
And then Morroco and Senegal
Wait for it
May be it will open for you too
You will see from your list that the preference is for Asians, then North Africa, and African countries that cannot even afford to pay application fees for admission talkless of tuition and other associated costs of applying for the study permit.

Actually those countries which are contributing largely in their economy is under SDS
PAKISTAN was added bcz many international students are contributing in their economy and the minister share in his tweet that SDS is expanding to Pakistan So that maximum student can easily get their study permit to study there and contribute in economy

I may have to verify your claim. Based on my experience and data available about International students, the trend has always been Chinese students, then Indian Students, and then Nigerians. It may have changed slightly since I did my Masters in the UK, but I am very sure that Nigeria is the No. 1 African country that contributes to the economy of any western country as International students. Even the data shows that Nigerians account for the lion share of applications to Canada, about 12,000 applications every year. So if any African country should be on that list, it should be Nigeria. However, its not, all for the simple reason that people are intimidated by the sheer tenacity and doggedness of Nigerians. They will not settle for anyhow jobs. That is why Canada has not and will very likely not put Nigerians on the SDS!

Data also shows that Nigerians are the most educated minority group in the US. Please take the time to verify this!

So I am not impressed by any country that is on the SDS list, it simply lowers the standard of entry into Canada, by implication means Canada wants less skilled people coming into their country, I wonder what the implication of this will be in the future.

Cheers

What exactly are Pakistan students contributing? Like what exactly ? Or you mean contributing to do all the menial jobs Canadians won’t do? I wonder .

International students pays 3 times more fee then domestic students
And many students from Pakistan are going to Canada to get higher education which contributes in their economy
If, more Nigerians start applying to Canada then you will also be on SDS LIST

Not sure you understand our point .
of course internationals pay more tuition , that’s nothing special for Pakistan students.
Going to get higher education does not mean you’re contributing to their economy.
like Omofar mentioned, Nigerians have the highest study application rate and it doesn’t signify we would be in the SDS.

Do you understand at all?

If you have high application rate
Then they should consider you for SDS
