Can anyone please confirm if a continuous employment under one firm is required for PR purposes or it can variate. I am working in Canada from last one year under category NOC(B) and thinking to quit the job now to start something new, am l still eligible to apply for PR using the details of my previous employer if i quit before applying?

Hi,

Thanks for sharing information. I have read the link and i have found it very helpful. But i have 1 question.
Right now, i am working in Walmart as a backroom supervisor which comes under NOC B 0621.
I joined last year on 24th Dec 2018. So now it's almost a year on the same position. Now, i want to move to some other company with different role.
Now, my question is, once i complete my 1 year in walmart as supervisor and get all the neccesary documents for PR, Can i leave my current job or i have to stay on the same position when i will apply my PR?
Hope you understand my question.

Thanks

its your decision to make. But in terms of CEC requirement, 1 yr is the minimum required considering that your full-time in that position and you have a total of at least 1560 Hours. See below. Check also this link:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/eligibility/canadian-experience-class.html

Your experience must be at least:

  • One year of full-time work
    • 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours), or
  • equal amount in part-time hours, such as:
    • 15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
    • 30 hours/week for 12 months at more than 1 job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
For part-time work, you can work more or less than 15 hours/week as long as it adds up to 1,560 hours.

We don’t count any hours you work above 30 hours/week.

I think it is very likely you have the wrong NOC, check 6211 -

There is no requirement to remain employed while you apply for PR.
