Hi, I'm worried about filling the ETA in correctly.

The question from the ETA is -
Have you ever committed, been arrested for, been charged with or convicted of any criminal offence in any country?

The help document says answer YES if you ever committed, been charged with or convicted.... It doesn't mentioned arrested.

My background was that I was arrested at the roadside in 2005 when the breathalyzer turned red. I was taken to the Police station where the machine said I was under. I was therefore not charged and released to go.

I wondered what anyone else's experience was and what I should enter.
Thanks in advance.

Your charged but not convicted. So you don’t have to mention anything. Incidences happen. I understood this and stopped driving frequently because I like to drive my car few times at 70, 90 or 100 because it was new then and was testing the car dynamics on a highway. I did this when the road had no traffic and never been intercepted. Now I don’t come out frequently by car and even if I do, I don’t cross the speed limit.

This can’t be a big problem because I will only use public transport abroad like I always do. Besides, having a car is an expensive lifestyle. What about immigrant pedestrians run down by locals and accidents abroad? The same thing can happen to foreigners in my country and this happened actually. That’s why, like I said above, this CANNOT be a problem.
