Hi All,

I recently completed soft landing at Toronto Pearson airport, I would like to share my experience to help out anyone who is planning on doing the same thing.
My flight landed at Toronto Pearson Airport at 9:30 PM, airport staff is very helpful. You will be first directed to a Kiosk to scan your passport and have your picture taken, in my case my information was not accepted and I was directed to the border control agent. I think 2 other flights landed at the same time along with my flight but the que moved fairly quickly With in 10 min I was interviewed by an agent, who asked my purpose of my visit. I replied, "I am here to complete landing" to which she very happily replied, " Oh welcome home!" She took my passport, boarding pass and filled out a customs form for me and directed me to immigration which was right behind border control desk .

Immigration took 10 min in total, there were only 2 people in line ahead of me, agent was pleasant. I gave my COPR and passport to the agent. He asked a few questions from COPR, asked me to fill out address section, (remember you need address in Canada) He told me I will receive PR car in 4-6 weeks .

Next, I was directed to customs office, I took prefilled a goods to follow list with me and took it with me. The agent was super nice, she made a few corrections on my form, made a copy, stamped it and gave the copy to me. Please note, I was not asked to provide pictures of jewellery.

SIN office closes at 9:30 PM at airport so I could not apply for SIN on day of landing, I went to service Canada office next day, the process is very simple. They ask for passport and copy of COPR and give you SIN no. on spot.
There are many car rental options at airport, since I do not have close friends or relatives, I rented a car. Its always better to rent a car with snow tires in winter season. Oh and one more thing, please check if your US mobile network has coverage in Canada, you may want to contact your carried because some plans charge a lot on roaming. You can also buy a prepaid sim from airport, they had different plans.
I hope this helps you! Safe travels!

Thanks for sharing your experience.

You noted that you were not asked for pictures of your jewelry, did you have jewelry with you and do you plan to take jewelry (included in your list of goods to follow) at a later date?
