Dear all,

Is it possible to find work in Canada from outside for people with PR Card.

I have received my PR and have a few months before I move to Canada (Toronto) for good. I wanted to use this time to find a job before making a move.I have IT project management+Business Intelligence+Social Sector experience.

Any pointers are appreciated.

Getting a job from outside Canada is almost impossible.
Without a Canadian address and phone number your resume will most likely not even be looked at in 95% of cases if you just apply on LinkedIn or over companies websites.
While you're outside of Canada your best bet is to try to make personal connections already, add people on LinkedIn and see if they're open on establishing a connection. Or maybe go into Facebook groups of your community ("Mexicans in Toronto", "Germans in Toronto", "Croatians in Toronto",... wherever you're from) and see if people have pointers there.
But I really wouldn't get hopes up there. Unless you land a really lucky punch it will most likely not work out before you come to Canada.

If you want to prepare for the job hunt when you're in Canada you could look at online certifications you could do in your field. And of course standard things like getting your resume in Canadian standard format and doing research and preparation for common interview questions.

Getting a job from outside of Canada is nearly impossible. (It is hard enough trying to get a job while you are in Canada).

But.....it has been done before. My brother in law got a job with an advertising agency before he actually moved to Canada.

I let him submit applications using my home address. Most will email you anyway.

He was lucky, he got an email from the agency while he happened to be in Canada during his initial landing in 2017. He was in Jasper at the time. He replied and he got an interview 2 days later.

He then went on to several rounds of interviews via Skype. And then he got his job offer. He moved here Oct 2018 and started work right away.

Amazing!

But reality check, my sister joined him in Dec 2018 and has still been unable to find work for the past year.

So my brother in law was really lucky but I think he did very well at his interviews.

I think you should just send in some applications. Try not to put your address if you can otherwise use a friend's address in Canada. No harm trying. I would target companies in provinces that have lower unemployment rates. eg ON.

I am trying from outside Canada to get a job. I received the ITA from CIC last month, submitted all docs and waiting for the PR. While applying to some jobs, they are asking ' Are you legally authorised to work in Canada'. Should I select 'No 'or 'Yes '

No. You aren't legally authorized to work in Canada until you actually land as a PR.

Select 'No'

You cant legally work unless you are a PR (landed) or have Work Permit.
