Wow, congratulations! So, your ghost was indeed for the final review. I still wonder if you were under SS at all or not? If you were, how long it too.
Anyways, I am very glad to hear that you got your ppr and I am sure it brings a ray of hope for all who are waiting.

About landing, the policy is either use it or lose it. However, given that you are an out land applicant, they have probably extended your medical for another year so you have enough time for landing. To make sure of what to do, raise a CSE. They respond precisely for questions like these.

Are you currently living in the US? Do you have single or multiple visa? So, in case you travel out for landing, would you be able to go back? If so, I don't think you need to worry that much. you can go land and go back live in the States for now.
Congratulation, Your medical approval date and extension should be indicated in your file, you can call CIC to make sure about extension also, they extended my medical and it showed in my online profile.

Hi Guys,

Did any of you order CSIS note? I did order it and It is mentioned that my security check is in process. Does it mean that CSIS part has not finished yet and then they will send my file to CBSA? Or they write this for all applications that are under SS no matter the fille is with CSIS or CBSA?
Sorry, I have never ordered and I don't know that much about it. If you find out, please share it with me as well.

Hello there,

when you seek advice, better to give more about your case. for instance what is the work permit based on, what's the condition imposed on your permit, under what category you applied for PR and much more.

based on the info you provided these are your answers:

1- you can apply to renew the wp from 120 days to its expiry. it's been said that apply no later than 30 days prior expiry. But many applied in the last week or even day.

2- we don't use the term " work visa " if you applied within CANADA. it called Work Permit. in general, unless you become a permanent resident of Canada your visitor visa is valid until the expiry of its date. Having said that IRCC may void your visa at any time. here are some scenarios: if you came to Canada with a visitor visa and then claimed for refugee status, then your visa is probably no more valid ( if you were issued a removal order)
Or in general, if you become inadmissible at any time.

3- take a look at your permit and the condition on that. Once you applied to renew your permit within Canada, You are under implied status which lets you work for the same employer as long as you are inside Canada until a decision is made on your renewal. based on the decision on your wp renewal, you may have some options. for more details consult with a regulated immigration consultant or a lawyer.

your file is pending a final decision. At some points under Background check, they share and receive data from different partners. there may be some confusion in the data they have found and what you declared. don't worry at all. at this point, you may request CBSA notes and you may find out more about your case.

Thank you so much.

At least another 3-4 months.

For your questions, you can raise a CSE and ask them what to do. They are usually quick and precise when it comes to these questions.
It is not like the status update that they send some template emails to everyone!
Plus you can keep their emails as a document showing that you exactly followed what they told you.
Hi
One week After my brother submitted his documents, he received 2 ghost updates within 3 days.
What does it mean? Is it a good sign??

I appreciate it :) And congrats for your PR :)
Hi Eternity87,
As I promised, I am sharing my timeline for receiving my visa. The whole process from sending the documents until receiving the passport took 17 days and the expiry date of the visa is Oct 2020. This confirms Mr.Nobody's statement and your conversation with IRCC regarding a one-year extension of Medical exam validity.
Good luck with the rest of your journey. :)

Well any sign is a good sign. It shows that they are at least working on your brothers case.
One of the ghost updates were probably for the time that the office checked the additional document. I am thinking that maybe the officer was satisfied with your ADR and didn't send your case to enhanced SS and the second ghost might be the final review. If that is the case, you should receive ppr soon. Cross your finger!

Hello,

Have a question related to the US travel ban for Iranian citizens who are also Canadian permanent residents who want to apply for a US immigrant/non-immigrant visa. I'm hoping this may be the right thread for this kind of question. Can Iranian citizens who are Canadian Permanent residents get US a visa or are they subject to the US Travel ban? Did anyone have a direct or indirect experience with it? I've tried to do some research online but couldn't find much info other than that as a landed immigrant of Canada applying for a visa from within Canada, they are eligible to apply for a waiver to be decided on a case-to-case basis according to section 3(c)(viii) of Executive Order 13780: https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/executive-order-protecting-nation-foreign-terrorist-entry-united-states-2/

Thanks in advance

Hello guys,

My medical exam was expired one week ago and it's been almost one year since my AOR (27 Dec 2018). There hasen't been any update regarding the medical expiration on the website and haven't received my GCMS notes. So desperate! :( Anyone has had a similar experience?

Hello for meducal either of the following two options happen:
1- Automatically at the expiry date, they will extend it
2- They will not reassess it until the last step. So, after your eligibility, criminality, and security is passed, in the final review, they will review your meical and will either extend it for one more year, or send you to do the remed. In that case, remed is actually a good sign and showing that everything is almost done!

I would say it is the correct place to ask. But, I am not sure how many people here applied for a US visa! It is hard to find one. I only know one person who applied for a visa from Canada to participate in a conference, and he got that.
I persinally have no information about different types of visa in the US and how they work. Let's see what other members who are US resident say about this. @earlybird2019
If you find any new information, please share it with me as well. I am intersted to know.

Thank you for your post. It is my question too, if as an Iranian, I can get B2 visa while I am residing in Canada? Please let us know if anybody has any additional information? Thank you in advance.

Thanks for your answers, I came across this response from the US Consulate in Toronto https://www.iccongress.ca/official_response_from_us_consulate_travel_ban
Which essentially says Canadian PRs are exempt from the travel ban. That post is 2 years old, so I sent them an e-mail to this Iranian Canadian Congress group and they replied saying they believe it's still valid and nothing has changed (PRs still exempt). I've sent an e-mail to the Montreal US embassy, will share back their reply if I hear back from them.

Hi @Mr_nobody, I heard some successful and few unsuccessful stories. As far as I know, the exemption is solely limited to F, M, and J visas and for people who were physically in US on or after September 24th, 2017 (all types). The Canadian PR applying from within Canada is eligible for a waiver which as everyone knows is a process with an unpredictable outcome.

Thank you for your good info. I live and work in Canada, and do not have Canadian PR yet. Nevertheless, my case is under processing. Have you ever heard somebody like my conditions could get US B2 visa for going to a conference or so?
