Hello everyone, Thank you in advance for your help in the following matter.

My mother in law arrived in Canada for the second time with super visa about 4 months ago and she was told she can only stay for 6 months because at the time of arrival at the airport she didn't have a visitor's insurance.

Question:
1 Does she need to extend her visa even though she has a supervisor which is good for 10 years?
2 if she needs to extend it , does she require visitors' insurance coverage?

It is beyond stupid for her to be here with no insurance. See here for just one example https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/huge-medical-bill-please-help.663240/.

She can apply for an extension but no guarantees.

also note that her visa is for 10 years that does not mean she can stay here for 10 years all at once without going back. She must still go back when the officer told her to. (unless she applies to extend her stay)
She would not extend her visa shes trying to extend her stay. Her visa is still valid.
But I agree, it is careless to be here without insurance.
