Hi, we received DM on Tuesday. We sent our documents to Mexico July 24, they were sent to the Mexican authorities August 9 and results were sent to IRCC October 11, DM October 15. So it took almost exactly 2 months for it to be processed
Thanks! Congrats!

Hi, are you sure that you’re talking about the process in which you have to send fingerprints to the Canadian embassy in Mexico, they have to send it to Fiscalía, and at the end, the embassy has to send it to Mississauga? It sounds like you’re talking about the police certificate that you get by yourself, not the embassy one.
it was the embassy one! we sent it online to mississauga and he has already been approved :)

my timeline:
Received - June 6

AOR - July 26

BR - Aug 21

SA & MR - Aug 22

Transfer to Mississauga - Aug 28

Med taken - Sept 3

Police certificate/AD request - Sept 5

Bio - Sept 10

Med pass - Sept 19

Police Certificate/AD complete - Sept 24

DM & PPR - Oct 8

the police certificate was faster as he didn’t even try to get it until the next week (he was out of town and had to get all the documents ready to bring them etc) and didn’t pick it up for a couple days after it was complete! so two weeks total

Then, you are talking about an outland process, not inland. It is not the embassy one because the embassy has to send it directly to Mississauga, it is not a process that you do. The embassy process takes more than two months and it is for inland applicants, not outland. But, congratulations because you got your PR!! :)

hi. I have an update. My belief is that IRCC lost the document for a while, and that is why it took them longer to process.

dates were:
- December 13: sent documents
- March 26: Canadian Embassy in Mexico reported receiving the certificate and sending it to IRCC (my case was being processed out of Edmonton)
- mid-August: I got the letter to send the passport to IRCC and conclude the PR process.

the gap between March 26 and Mid August was not normal. They did not openly disclose they had lost the document, but I called many times and, in Mexico they said they had already sent; in Canada they said they did not have it... tough stressful times
Which phone number you talk to cananda embessay in mexico.. The email address above just responds an ack but never update any significant information.. any other way to connect with CanadaEmbassay in mexico City?.

Hello! I have a doubt concerning this, How did you know all those dates? Did they message you through your account? I guess that's what DM means... I get all confused by all those abbreviations... I hate them, I don't know what most of them mean!..

I know the date they received my documents through FedEx tracking, was on Oct 15, 2019, but how do I know if they sent it to FGR and how do I know if FGR already sent the results to IRCC?

I'm worried that my status doesn't show any progress and my work permit expires on Feb 25, 2020, I have to apply for BOWP but I understand I need to pass certain stage in order to be eligible to apply for it...

This is so stressful, sorry for bitching around! LOL

This is my summary so far...

CRS: 459 | Stream: Canadian Experience Class (Inland)
ITA: 24-July-2019
AOR: 04-Sep-19
MEP: 24-Sep-2019

You just have to send an email asking about the status of the request of your police certificate from Mexico to the Canadian Embassy in Mexico city:
MXICO-IM-RAU@international.gc.ca
Do not forget to include your file number, complete name and date of birth in all your enquiries.

Hey buddy !!!

Look if you can go to Mexico(in case you are Mexican or have family or friends there ) or even hire a “agent” to get the Police certificate DO IT!!! People normally got it in 10 days even sometimes in 5 !! In my experience I send it when the ask, to the embassy of Canada in Mexico is being 65 days since they got my fingerprints and still waiting!!!
So the best of lucks in your “odyssey” haha ;)

where would one find an "agent" to do so?

Hello Guys,

I have a question about the Spouse Sponsorship Application

Im from Mexico, do I need to provide a Certified copy for my birth certificate with stamp and sealed?

I got it translated here in Canada and I didn’t get it sealed. Is there any problem with it? As I read in the documents requirements on CIC said we need government-certified copies with stamp and sealed.

Please let me know what is the best way to do it?

Also about all the copies from Passport pages, should I get it certified copies too? Or just regular copies are ok?

please help, I’m stuck here. Thank you so much

I have a question.

I got the ITA and passed medicals. And now received an email on my profile requesting for police certificate from Mexico for both me and my spouse. However my wife has never been to Mexico in her life. What should I do now ?

Should I send my fingerprint cards, photos to Canadian embassy in Mexico ? Or should add my wife’s papers as well ?

Hello! I would send mine but not the wife's... If she's never been in Mexico.. and attach maybe a Letter of explanation? It's been more than a month since your question, what did you do??

I'm still waiting for any update regarding my Police Certificate, I sent my package, they sent it to FGR in Nov 1st, 2019 and still no updates in my profile... Unfortunately Mexican authorities takes forever to do any bureaucratic procedure, in person it takes 10 days or less but through the Canadian Embassy it can take 30-60 business days.. that's completely ridiculous! I just hope this results in ONLY delays in my application (I don't care if it takes 6, 8, 10 months as long as they approve my application), and not in a rejection cause they still don't receive my Police Certificate :(

Good luck paisano, and I hope your process goes smoothly.

Hey Norma55, I am Also waiting for my Mexico PCC since Nov 1. My documents were also sent to FGR on Nov 1st. It seems the Nov 1st is not having any update. When did you last checked with Canada Embassay and lets keep updating each other on once you see a movement.

Last time I checked was yesterday Jan 19th, no new info, only that if I need additional time to comply with the requested documents, to ask for it directly to the IRCC office in charge of my application, now I'm so stressed... I will call tomorrow to see which VO has my application.

(Just in case someone else is reading this thread).

I am in the same boat, the Canadian Embassy in Mexico also sent my documents to the Mexican authorities on Nov 1st and I have not had any news from them. I do not believe them that it is totally the Mexican authorities fault because the Canadian Embassy received my documents on October 2nd and they decided to send them to the Mexican authorities on November 1st, duh! The last time that I sent them an email they replied with this:

"Dear Sir/Madame,

Please be informed that your documents were sent to Mexican authorities on 01/11/2019. Processing time for a federal police certificate from Mexico takes from 30-60 business days. Results will be sent directly to the IRCC office processing your application.

If you require additional time to comply with the requested documents we kindly ask you to please direct this enquiry to the IRCC office in charge of your application.

Please be informed that the time frames for the Mexican police certificate request depends on Mexican authorities procedures and it is independent from the Canadian Embassy."

It looks exactly like the email they sent to me yesterday... Oh crap! Are you Mexican? I do believe it's the bureaucracy in Mexico... it's always been like that! I'm just worried that maybe I should've request an extension of time, long time ago... I'm calling tomorrow to see how to proceed next.
