To Whom It May Concern,
I am a Canadian Citizen and got married to someone from Pakistan. I filed the Sponsorship application about a month and half ago. I received a job offer to work overseas and I am not sure what to do? I have 2 questions?
If I accept this job offer and leave Canada to work while my wife application is still in process, will that affect her in term of her paperwork?

2- If my travel for work overseas does not affect her status then what to we need to do to maintain her PR if we are going to be overseas for a long time for work?

I was wondering if she can be in Canada for 3-4 months to get her Health Card then she will be joining me overseas. Is that possible?

It is a good opportunity and I will never have an opportunity like that here. I would appreciate your assistant and feedback. Thank you

Thank you for your reply. If that is the case, then what happens to the Spnsorship Application I submitted? Do I contact CIC and provide them with an update about my new job and address overseas? My wife will be joining me there shortly after.

I am not sure how long will I be working overseas! The contract is open for renewal and the only reason it might not, it would be because my work performance is not satisfactory! Hence it is difficult to predict when we will be returning.

1. Yes, it will affect the app. If you leave Canada, you must inform IRCC. You can then expect them to request proof of your intent to return prior to approving your wife's app. If you cannot provide solid proof, the app will be refused.

2. As above, her app won't be approved if you are not returning to Canada soon.

3. No. Health coverage has residency requirements.

Then you will likely need to choose between the overseas job or the PR app.
