UPDATE: After reading the forums a bit more, it seems like flag-poling is not necessary. :)

hello bro! just curious, did you get an answer to your question if there's a need to flagpole for the BOWP to take effect? my BOWP was approved yesterday and im wondering if i need to cross the border to activate it. thanks

hello guys. does anyone here knows how long does it take for the new Work Permit to be delivered upon approval?

do i need to do flagpoling to activate my BOWP?

Never heard about that. BOWP is like PGWP. You are expected to be in Canada and your new permit is considered just a extension (that's why you look at permit extension when checking processing times).

I have applied for BOWP on July 8th and until now I haven't received my work permit. Online showing they are still processing my application. I've seen people from this thread who applied after me has gotten their work permit. About 2 weeks ago I've received an email from CIC that my final determination of permanent residence interview has been scheduled. Right now I don't know what's going on. Any ideas

What is your AOR.. and which visa office is processing your application. I think they have assigned a officer to give you PR rather then giving work permit.

Hi,

AOR - 13/Aug/2019
Medicals Passed: 05/Sep/2019

BOWP applied on - 06/Sep/2019,

PGWP expired on 11/Sep/2019; now in implied status

Have to travel to India by this month end which is unavoidable.

Returning back on Dec 22. Can i expect BOWP on or before that date to resume working??

@DelPiero07 - appreciate your help on this.

I do have a same situation. I will be going in next week but still afraid of getting stuck there!
Applied for BOWP on 3rd August, still no updates on my status of application.

If someone knows, Is it possible to get the TRV from India,when I get my bowp?

I believe we shall apply for TRV in India to come back and wait until BOWP is approved to resume working. This is what i was told by the agent when i contacted ircc. TRV gets processed in 13 days in India as per ircc processing times. Not sure how far this works. Gotta give a try!

I wish, i could do that. Unfortunately my work permit got expired in September. So, i have no choice other than to wait for the bowp.
