Parent or guardian?

We do have a serious bond, we've been together as a couple for two years and I emigrated here in December last year. If I didn't get on with the children, immigration would never have worked ;-)

I changed and resubmitted my express entry profile to change my marital status to single, and only kept my biological daughter in that profile. As she was born here to a Canadian citizen and has a Canadian birth certificate I don't need to include her in my actual application.

Thanks to everyone for their advice :)

Hi guys. I have a difficult question. I've been in BC since December 11 to live with my Canadian fiancée and her three children. We also now have a girl of our own. I've received my invitation to apply for express entry and started filling in the application for permanent residency. Straight away I've encountered a sticky question. I'm being asked what my relationship to the children is, parent or guardian. I'm not a guardian as I haven't been appointed by a court. But surely a parent means biological parent? The children see their biological father every other weekend, but I'm involved in the day to day stuff as if I were their parent. Can anyone give me a little guidance please?
Hi
I know ur post is quite old but I'm in a similar situation..I'm the primary applicant and my husband had a daughter from previous marriage and she is not accompanying us and she stays with her mother.. we have no contact whatsoever... So in the questionnaire it's asked whether I'm the parent or guardian and there is no other option in the drop down list... What you do... Please help...
