Hi folks
I am on study permit and want to apply for my husband visa. I got married after approval of study visa and before landing so I want to know how to inform IRCC about my marital status.

You don't inform IRCC about your marital status. Your spouse just applies.

Just warning you that spouses of international students are not guaranteed a permit/visa. It says you can apply which many have interpreted as they will be awarded the SOWP if married.

I know that and please stop demotivating others. Moreover no other visas are guaranteed it depends on your profile.

I agree. It's very demotivating having to read that. I was demotivated when I read your comments, but reading the cases of the people approved here in the forum made me apply. I am a Master's student and I applied for my wife's open Work permit August 21 and got approved October 17. I even was surprised because my wife showed no financial info since she does not work (I showed mine, < 9k CAD), she just showed that she has family in her country, and that she is studying 4th year in university and will come back to finish her studies when I graduate. So, just apply and don't be demotivated.

Not trying to demotivate people just trying to educate people. Based on the way it is written most people are under the impression that their SOWP is guaranteed and are making plans for their spouses to move and then get refused and wonder why. Based on my observations students applying for advanced degrees like masters and PhDs tend to have high likelihood of approval but those taking other degrees it is not or miss.
