Is there any way to know whether I have passed the eligibility check...
Eligibility is your relation to your spouse, medical and background check. But if your relation is genuine and they determine it, they send u pre arrival.

I wish all the true cases are processed like your one.. In you case the PA is not from Pakistan..
Well I don’t know, but there was one Pakistani person who got pr even earlier than me. At least from what I remember... it depends I guess.... but I hope genuine marriages will not have to go through struggle no matter what country they come from!!!

Dear Experts,

I hope everyone is doing great. I am a Permanent Resident and about to get married in Pakistan. I have the following queries:

1) Apart from getting my Spouse's Police Clearance Certificate from Pakistan, getting the MRC , and 20 photos taken at different places at different times , rukhsati , valeema, nikah pictures. What else should I note down in the list while being in Pakistan , so that I should be able to apply for the spousal immigration, right after coming back to Canada ? (Open some joint bank account as a proof, Make FRC from NADRA for both of you as a family)

2) Do I need to attest the MRC from anywhere ? Also, do I need to get the English translation of the Urdu Nikah Naama ? (Get transalation from notary public and attested one)

3) Do I need to open a joint bank account for myself and my spouse ? (Yes, better)

4) At this point of time, I am not working. So would it be a problem in sponsoring my spouse ? Someone told me if I have some funds in my Canadian bank account , then it should be fine. If so, then what balance should I maintain ? (Put up your application, don't wait for job. Give proof of funds. It is extremely painful to wait and really stressful. So, at least you will have some progress on your application. And when get job just update your application)

5) Under the documents checklist, I have to provide Both of the below following documents out of four:

(a) Important documents for you and your spouse showing that you are recognized as each other’s spouse (such as employment or insurance benefits).
(b) Documentary evidence of financial support between you and your sponsor, and/or shared expenses.

I am confused , like what documents shall I provide to satisfy the above 2 points ? (When come here, send her money through western union and put the receipt with your application)

6) Do I need to apply for my spouse's Smart NICOP ( showing mine and my spouse's temporary address same ) - But your wife not eligible for NICOP, as she is in Pakistan. Better get FRC.

7) Also, I would be renewing my NICOP ; since I am a permanent resident of Canada as well, I would be changing the country of Stay as Canada, but do I need to add my Canadian address under the temporary/permanent address in NICOP ? - Better mention your NICOP with your address in Canada as current address

Also, please do provide your valuable suggestions/advices , that I should follow in order to get my spousal's case successful.

Thanks a lot for sparing you time..

Thanks. I am really worried of how they evaluate genuineness of relationship. I am Canadian citizen of Bangladesh origin who got married with a Pakistani girl. It was arranged by two families and we talked for few months. We liked each other and got married last year in December. As a proof to my relationship I have submitted copies of invitation letter from my father in law, Pakistan visa and stamps in passport, boarding passes ,tickets, receipts of wedding ceremony and reception, receipts of staying in hotel and shopping, few hundred pics of signing nikahnama, wedding ceremony and reception photos with her family and pictures of my parents watching the ceremonies live, outing pictures with her and family, copies of communication ( email, facebook, WhatsApp), her national identity card and passport showing my name as husband, health insurance from my workplace, emails of colleagues full of good wishes, greeting and gift cards from colleagues.. Even I have lots of call history of us talking hours after hors in video. Also she changed her name after marriage to carry my last name. God knows what else is needed to prove relationship.. I am working in a reputable government organization so I can not always travel to visit my wife. I have saved all my vacation to visit her in December to celebrate our marriage ceremony.

I am not Pakistani so I don’t know cultural norms and traditions, but main that you follow all of those. They have certain standard you need to comply with for every country. Like big marriage for Indians and all relatives present... to me sounds like all is fine with your case. We had about same amount of proof. Also we showed that we meet after marriage and live a normal life.

Hi everyone,

I have Smart NICOP , whereas my (to-be) spouse has the Overseas Nadra ID Card.
For getting the MRC from Union council, a part from the NIKAH NAAMA .. Do we have to apply for the smart NICOP of the bride before applying for MRC ? Because , the new smart NICOP would have the Husband's name mentioned. OR , the bride's previous NICOP ( before marriage one) can be used to get the MRC ?

i think the nikkah nama and the bride groom nic and the parents nic are taken by union council to make the mrc and you dont need to give them the nic with husband name but i was getting done both in parallel like we applied for mrc from uc and smart nicop at the same time so we got both with in two weeks.

mrc they make according to nikkah nama .. but u should ask the union council person u r dealing with to show u the drafted mrc before actually giving the original one for any spelling mistakes etc and also ask him abt this smart nic with husband name thing.

Just want to add a bit. Please include notarized Urdu Nikahnama including certified English translation of Nikahnama along with the Marriage certificate.
