Hi there
We received a Pre-arrival service letter today. We did biometrics about two months ago. but still, we didn't do a medical check.
I thought usually this letter issued after medical check.
what the meaning of this letter now?
It means that your relation is genuine. And Usually sent towards the end of the process... only left is background check.

  • I am sponsoring my wife
  • submitted my application in May 2017
  • completed medical & background information in June 2017
  • received an email that the application has been forwarded to visa office in Rome, Italy in September 2017
  • received Invitation to Pre-arrival services February 27, 2018
  • received email requesting passport for final review February 28, 2018 :)
The waiting and lack of update at times has been unbearable for me but reading some of the threads in this forum and other forums in the website have been encouraging and very helpful!!

Best of luck to everyone!!!
Plz let me know that did you register with only one service or more which was provided by IRCC . Thanks

Please stop saying this. Its NOT true. Its still possible to get denied, its possible to get this BEFORE your medical request, or your biometrics request, or before an interview if the agent decides its needed.

While its exciting to get, and is an indication that you are moving forward, it does NOT indicate where you are in the process or how many "steps" are left.

Anything is possible with immigration))) in my case it was like this: pre arrival- background check- decision made) now just waiting for passport request...

im not. im being realistic

as I mentioned, there is a good chance PR will be granted. but pre-arrival invite are not a guarntee you will be granted PR as approval also depends on the background checks which are usually done after elegibility is passed
i agree... but logically, do you think cic will asked the applicant to gave a go signal to access the services (pre-arrival), and that is free of charge, if the applicant will be denied on his application? =)

though the letter is not a confirmation, i think it's kind of 70-30 chance that the application is or will be approve. just my cents. =)

and why would they waste the applicants time joining these pre arrival services and joining webinars and all of that if they will be rejected in the end... It just don't make sense. I think it's more like 95 approval rate when people get Pre arrival. You really need to have a bad background check to be rejected, this is something you know before applying anyways. So, if you have a clean background, no worries.

Sorry, I'm the sponsor, I don't speak Tagalog;) I'm better now, I gained my weight back but I don't expect PPR for PA anytime soon judging from what we are seeing recently.

I gave an explanation a while back why things are slow these days, I really think it's because of the election in Canada coming up.... Maybe they have received orders not to send out PPR's until further notice. If the liberals win, it will start again;) I might be wrong but this is the only explanation I could think of.

Same here, especially that my application is under PNP Non-express entry program, which I think it takes a while to process the application . I have no idea why I am here in Family sponsorship class. I only used search engine of this forum about the pre arrival letters.:)

It is indeed helpful. Can u plz help me to know whether they send prearrival letter and eligibility passed letter after reviewing medical results?
based on my experience, it's only pre arrival letter. even in the gckey account, they will not inform you if you passed or they completed the eligibility check. but based on what i read here, pre arrival letter is a good sign.

If it's any consolation, in the pre arrival centre where I work, we help over 200 clients every month, and we've only heard of ONE person who was rejected after getting the pre arrival services letter. So even if it's not impossible, I would say the odds are around 1 in 500 or even 1 in 1000.

Congratulations to all who have received the letter! Fingers crossed for all of you :) and if you are moving to Manitoba, please let me know. We are the only pre arrival service specific to Manitoba, and which provides services in French, Spanish and Tagalog in addition to English.
how about in SK?
