Hello All,

I have one query. I am planning to go for soft landing for 3 days. Can I travel within Canada by air (Saskatchewan to Toronto) as PR card will take around 2 weeks. So, for travel purpose, I only have Indian passport as my identification at that time.... Is that enough for domestic air travel?

Thanks for your reply. One more thing as I nominated from Saskatchewan and there is direct flight from Minnesota (USA) to Saskatoon (Canada), I am curious that can I do soft landing formalities in Saskatoon airport itself as I heard that there are only few airports where we can do soft landing formalities like. Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary because they are big airports. Is it true?? If anyone knows, can I do my soft landing formalities in Saskatoon airport as there is direct flight from usa? I also heard that there is no initial landing facilites in Saskatoon airport because this is small airport and very few flights are landing in this airport...not sure whether this is correct information? Please help me out so that I can book my ticket if soft landing formalities are done in Saskatoon airport.

Landing will be done at a Port of Entry to Canada only. That means the first international airport that you arrive at. It doesn't matter how big it is, as there will be a CBSA presence there.

I did landing in Saskatoon - my flight route was from dtw-mn-sask.
All ports(air, land and sea) from international would have to have immigration. How will people get immigration clearance landing from abroad.

Yes its pain if the airline agent is not knowing on it but what choice do we have and it can happen in any airport as the agent in big airports are not knowing all the rules.
We had to wait for 30-45 mins at the airline counter in SK because she was not knowing how to process the boarding pass for expired visas(with valid i94). She/He will eventually call the supervisors and give you the boarding pass.
Your flight route convinience is more important as we cannot control the delay at airport. Take the printout of avr rules at cbp site and show it to the agent and ask the agent to call the cbp or her/his supervisor to get it clarified.

You should be fine.

Thanks Sir,
One more question Since you moved in Windsor in Dec 2016.....So, probably this year (Dec 2019) u r eligible for Canadian citizenship...Right? I heard that it might be some issues at the time of citizenship if visa officer knows that the person is not leaving in nominated province for atleast 2 years and move from nominated province to other province....Is it right?

I moved in 2017. Next year is the eligibility for me.
Not heard of any citizenship interviews questioned on location change. Its just people talk due to fear, nothing more.
PR has right to change location per rules. So officer cannot question. Even border questions during the initial move but they dont block anyone till now after PR. If there is a rule then cbsa themselves would have blocked entry for many.

Even the guys who studied and worked in Canada move to other province after landing. So its normal and within rules.

Leaving aside legalities, the province nominates for a purpose based on their needs etc. One applies knowing this in advance and yet they look to move to another province?

And if this continues and if the province finds a pattern, is it possible that they just not select similar candidates in future?
Wouldn't it affect future candidates who genuinely want to migrate to that province and have no other option other than to get a nomination?

Whats appalling is folks complain about US legal immigration not being fair (national origin discrimination etc) and yet the very same are totally fine giving crap to Canadian immigration.

Height of selfishness, no wonder US immigration does what it does.
