Hi everyone, I'm working as a sushi chef in a sushi take out shop (not a restaurant). My main duty is to make sushi rolls, and prepare food for the next day. So am I qualified as a chef (noc B - 6321) or sushi preparer (noc D - 6711)? I'm graduated in Canada as a computer technician, which is not relevant to restaurant at all.
Thank you.
A major clue is that you work in a take-out shop as opposed to a restaurant. The lead statement in an NOC is just as important as the job duties and responsibilities -
NOC 6321
"They are employed in restaurants, hotels, hospitals and other health care institutions, central food commissaries, clubs and similar establishments, and on ships."
NOC 6711
"They are employed by restaurants, cafés, hotels, fast food outlets, cafeterias, hospitals and other establishments."
Based on that difference alone, NOC 6711 fits better.
