Yes, gift deed is absolutely fine. I got the gift deed from my sister for 10000$ and I submitted letter in plain paper (gift deed letter) , bank cheque, transaction receipt, my bank statement and bank certificate. My application was approved in 2 months.

Can you please confirm for how many months you provided bank statement ?

Also is it necessary to provide bank statements for 6 months?

Hi everyone! I am currently in Canada as a student and have also received my ITA under Express Entry. Now my father is going to deposit some amount in my canadian student account as a gift to me. I m going to show that amount as POF in my PR application.
I have a couple of queries:
1) Will a gift letter from my dad stating the details of the amount gifted to me be enough. Executing a gift deed will not be possible as my dad is in India and i m in canada.
2) is it alright if i show the funds in a canadian bank account?

It is absolutely fine. Just ask your dad to write a letter stating that he is gifting that money. You don't need to notarize it. Just ask your dad to write letter in plain paper but make sure to include detail information. And explain it in letter of explanation and submit all proof you can.

Hi,

My Father in Law transferred amount of 2000 $ thrice in my Joint account with spouse in the last 3 months.

Now I am a bit confused about the gift deed and the affidavit.

The amount was transferred before ITA and it is reflecting in the bank account statement.

Do i need to get 3 gift deed and 3 affidavit or 1 gift deed mentioning 3 transactions would be fine?

As it is a joint account with my spouse and i am the primary applicant, do my spouse need to give any affidavit for the access of the whole amount?

Thanks!!

Hey i received gift from my father in form of CASH that i deposited in my account in 3 transcation within a week. However I didnt attached any document at time of file submission. Now the case officer gas asked the explanation of 3 big deposits in my account.
I will be sending gift deed letter along with LOE to appologize of not submitting this doc earlier. Will it be OK?
I Wasnt aware of gift deed letter before so i will be making one now. Will it be a problem

I think it shouldn't be a problem but do mention some details about your father like his government identification number and all.

As per my knowledge I think back dating will make another query from them that if you had this while applying why didn't u submitted it to us at that time. It's better in loe u explain them that it was a gift and you r submitting an gift deed as a proof of it and don't back date it. This is as per my knowledge but can't be sure .

Anyone who submitted a gift deed and a received a procedure fairness letter stating that "you might not have sufficient funds at your disposal to establish yourself in Canda" and requested the bank statement? How did it go? We still have the money in our account and we submitted a gift deed , my husband's bank statement who is the primary applicant in March.

What percentage of your funds were from gift deed? I am guessing this may happen when your significant portion of funds are from gift deed.
