I applied at BLS and my experience
1. No need to send original passport to consulate. We got our passport same time and took only passport copies
2. Proof of status for your parents is Supervisa copy page and for you "Landing paper or citizenship certificate and Canadian passport / PR card and Indian passport , surrender of Indian passport certificate.
3 Proof of address will be yours as your parents are visiting Canada. You can use DL if it has physical address or bank statement with address
4. I got PCC delivered in mail within 1 week !!!
Thanks a lot . Do you mind sharing which province did you apply from, I am going to be applying from Alberta.

BLS didn't took original passport for submission from us and only photocopies of front and last page.
Awesome thank you. It was mentioned on their checklist to give original passport too..
I have still to apply, waiting for the new renewed passport to come from them yet :)

Yes means scanned copy of affidavit are fine?
Are you getting this affidavit?
I have heard these affidavtis and DOB certificates don't get accepted most of the times.

I thought those education certificates should be good. My mother has "No record found" certificate from Municipality, where they didn't have birth records from 1960's. I don't think that is gonna work either.

My other thought is may be it is the sponsor's birth certificate that is required in PGP's case as we sent initially (to show relations with parents). But may be I am wrong.

Country Specific Requirement :- Please refer to the country specific requirements listed for spouses, as these documents are applicable to parents and grandparents.

I don't understand how is it applicable to sponsor parents and grandparents? As soon as I open this link it ask for who are you sponsoring and there is no option for the Parents to select, all it is for (Spouse, Common law partner, conjugal partner and dependent child).
If anyone have find out the answer for this please share. Thanks

Select spouse, and whatever is listed under country specific requirement section, that will be applicable to parents you are sponsoring.

As lot of people got confused with the CPC M letter, here are the main points of it:

Please note that the following documentation is required for your sponsored family members. If not already included in your application, please submit as soon as possible:

1. Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) - If you not paid already, pay it.

2. Passport: Your relative must submit a copy of their passport. If your relative’s passport has expired or will expire within the next 12 months, please have them apply for and submit a copy of their new passport with a validity of 12 months or more. Please ensure to include all pages of the passport.

3. Biometrics : Saying you will get a BIO letter and have to do it at that time.

4. Police Certificate: Saying there will be no separate PCC request. PA and dependent should have the PCC and send it asap. PCC from Canada is not required.

5. Supplementary Information – Travel history (IMM5562): The principal applicant and all family members included in the application who are 18 years of age or older must complete this form.

6. CV/Resume: Provide a CV for the principal applicant and dependant spouse detailing education and employment information from the age of 18.

Send the documents by email to: with a subject line - PGP-APR

Hi All,

Is there a time limit like 30 or 60 days for sending all these docs to CPC missisaugga (letter from CPC M doesnt have anything mentioned in it)? My mom is going back to home in November and we planning to get the PCC and other stuff from home country. So i most probably will send everything in January.

I already submitted parent Matriculation certificate as proof of DOB and submitted my DOB as proof of relationship as well. The letter I received for PCC and additional document is very generic. As per country specific requirement:

Country specific requirements

India – Instruction(s) for documents
  • Birth certificates issued in this country: If a birth is registered late, include the original baptism certificate and other original documents establishing identity such as:
    • Old school records (Fifth class, Middle standard and Matriculation/secondary school certificate), and
    • Voter's ID card.

I am thinking of sending these for my mum:

  • Old school records (Fifth class, Middle standard and Matriculation/secondary school certificate), and
  • Voter's ID card.

And sponsor's birth certificate again.
Let me know if you get the affidavit and how it goes. Thanks!

no, not yet. probably later. my case just got transferred to HK 2-3 days ago.
In that case I will say that CPC Missisauga is a faster processing centre.

My parents are in Singapore but our LVO is CPC M. Got the letter to request PCC yesterday. Parents just finished medical and biometric on 24 and 23rd Sept. Medical was submitted by panel physicians on 26 Sept.

@robertp and @YULIA-2016

Just to confirm...
As mentioned in the Form: IMM5562, only the trips of last 10 years outside of the country of origin needs to be shown. Do we have to show the stay at country of origin to fulfill 10 years range If parents started tourism in last four years?

Thanks....

6. Country Specific Doc: Only applicable if you already didn't provide them to IRCC with the application. These are additional doc requested by IRCC and applicable based on the country. Select "spouse" in the link, whatever is listed under country specific requirement section, you have to provide those docs for applicants/dependents.

Example: For India you have to provide the Birth Certificate (or if the birth certificate is not available Voter ID card and School certificates) for PA and dependents.

7. CV/Resume: Provide a CV for the principal applicant and dependant spouse detailing education and employment information from the age of 18. The CV format can be kept very simple such as:

Name, Last Name
Current address
Phone number

Date of birth
Info about education (names of the schools, dates)
Employment (dates, names of the companies, positions and list of duties)
Personal info (family staus, children, hobbies and interests)
