You should get it cured. Antivirals to do it run $150 (CDN). They usually take 8 weeks for a total cure.

  • Treatment comes in pill form, has few side effects, and is usually taken for eight or 12 weeks.
  • For most people, the cost of treatment is covered through public health insurance plans (provincial, territorial or federal). If you have private insurance from a job, your plan should cover the cost of treatment.
  • Getting cured of hepatitis C can make your life better. The hepatitis C virus can no longer injure your liver, helping to prevent liver failure and lowering your chances of getting liver cancer. CATIE

Depending on the stage of hep c and strain it is extremely expensive to cure hep c and the treatment has only been available pretty recently.

Sounds like this is a recent infection so you may just have to wait until your treatment is over and you can prove you are negative. Nobody can tell you exactly what will happen.
