I feel like I want my sponsor to call them now but I did not sign her as my rep so they can't really give her any pieces of information.
She can call but will need you to be on the phone to consent to disclose your information to her. I have called plenty of times with my wife on the phone with me. You can setup a 3 way call with you your wife and IRCC. the process is frustrating as the wait time is long but since they have removed the global affairs loop hole number the waiting time for call center agent has improved big time. I always got my call connected within 30 minutes, sometime luck they connect me right away.

Do I need to be on the call the whole time or after giving my consent I could just hang up? My wife and I only have FB messenger as our only way to call each other.

Yes, you will have to be on the phone the whole time. They will start to ask like the application number, sponsor DOB, sponsor Name and Country of Citizen, and PA name, PA DOB and PA Country of Citizen or Country of Birth. Once everything verified then the agent will ask you for the consent then they will start communicate with the Sponsor but during the process the agent might ask PA some questions so it is better you are on the phone all the time.

Call number 8882422100, option 2-1-1 then 0 to speak to an agent.

Let me to be clear, I am the sponsor my wife is the PA. I am not assigned rep on the application because we have a consultant representing us. thus I can not be on it. but as a sponsor, still have a right to call but only need consent from PA. it does not make much sense but the call center agents are trained and they have to follow the rules.

it would make sense for you to sign the representive form to point to her as your rep and submit that form via webforms if you think you might want the sponsor call IRCC a lot to get updates.

Hello

Im Canadian citizen . My wife will be landing first time soon in Canada as Immigrant. I sponsored her under spousal visa and she will be coming as Permanent resident( with COPR) . When I landed as immigrant ( PR ) few years ago there was a requirement that I had to carry around $12000 shown as proof of funds as single person . So is this applicable to her ? Or is it since I sponsored her, she doesn't have to bring any funds ? Yes She is bringing money but just want to know if there is requirement to show minimum amount that she is bringing with her to the Canadian airport officer ? Please advice

Hi People

Could anyone clarify if the whole process will slowdown or freeze due to the upcoming elections on 21 October. I already see that there are not many updates as few weeks ago..... looks like its slowing down..... do you people feel the same?
