Hey
I am in the same situation. I had withdrawn charges and applied for RCMP
How long it took for you to get the report?
And does it affect your PR?
I'm in the same boat. Charges withdrawn but active peace bond. I applied for RCMP check on 26th March but haven't received it yet! How about you

Hey guys,

I am in a situation where I was charged, but then the charges were withdrawn. CIC requested an RCMP Certified criminal record check as I'm sure they found a positive fingerprint match.

Can anyone tell from their experience how long it takes to receive the rcmp letter. It says 120 days online, but I have only 60 days to submit online through the cic portal. Please help!!°
Hi if you are still active here do reply. When did u get your RCMP certificate and what it did it show?

Hi @k_malani:
If I remember correctly, I applied for my certified criminal record check on March 20th, 2019 and received it on Jun 5th, 2019. I had to send an email to RCMP to inquire about the status and requested them to expedite when it was getting close to the 60 day submission deadline. It can take up to 120 days in case of a positive match. I don’t recall if the certificate showed any withdrawn charges, but it was accepted by IRCC without any issues. Best of luck!

Hi thank you for your response. Really appreciate it. U said your charges were withdrawn so I was just curious if the RCMP record check stated a positive match or negative match (since it was not a conviction).

I do have the same situation. I had a charge in 2019 for which i went through court and went for counselling and the court said charges are withdrawn and follow a year peace bond.

I applied for immigration in November 2020 and i did submitted my RCMP check and the letter document from the courthouse to support with my application upfront.

On the RCMP letter it said, this charge is waiting for disposition. I don’t see any change in my application till now and i am worried.

Do you think this will affect my PR application??

Please reply

Did the court document says - charge withdrawn?
I can't say for sure what will happen because I'm in the same situation. I got my charges withdrawn last month via peace bond and going to counseling right now. I have applied for RCMP but haven't received anything yet after 2 weeks. Some users have suggested that it should come up as charges stayed or withdrawn in the RCMP letter. I'm not sure why yours said charges waiting for disposition.

Mind if I ask you how much you had to wait to receive RCMP certificate?

The court letter didn’t say that clearly but it has all the details that need to be known. I still have my fingerprints at local police and have put down a request for destroying it.

I had a virtual hearing at the court and the crown did mention charges withdrawn and peace bond to be maintained for a year.

The charges are withdrawn for sure and probably it’s just taking time to update on RCMP side.

normal processing is around 5 to 7 business days for RCMP check. But if it is complicated it can take up to 2 to 3 weeks. Also canada post is a part that can cause delays or sometimes they misplace while delivering to us.
