Just some quick advice please

Wife and I are both planning to travel to Canada soon on valid work permits. We are planning to be in Canada for under 3 months.

We have in the past few months had a little baby who obviously has no status in Canada (but has a British passport)

We have applied for PR express entry and are in the final stages (have received ITA etc and eveything submitted documents and they have been with cic for many months - so I am hoping we hear within the next few months)

It has just dawned on me what we do with the little one when we land in Canada soon - do we apply for some sort of dependency permit for baby (under our work permits) or as we are coming for less than three months just bring baby in as a visitor and hope we get PR in that time?

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks

Baby needs an eTA to come to Canada. Once here, you'll just apply to extend the baby's status every six months.

If you will be here under 3 months, you will not qualify for provincial healthcare. Ensure that you have sufficient medical insurance. Routine care is not covered, so you will have to pay out-of-pocket for such costs. Get everything done for the baby that you can, i.e. immunizations, while you still have coverage in your country.

Good point. Any specific insurers we should be looking at?

Not something I am familiar with. There are threads about the topic if you search around or you can just start a new thread asking for insurance recommendations.
