@heysushant , @anandekraj i am sure you must have received your PRs and must be doing great.
As i am in a similar situation now, wanted to know how you got over with the hurdle of providing proof for roles and responsibilities. Did you just then attached a copy of the email from colleague/supervisor , or did u get it notarized ?

Did you get any response on your query from anyone...
Dear All,

There are a lot of insightful posts above, but I feel my case is a bit different.
I hope someone can help....

1. My previous employer's HR has refused to send a letter of reference to me, be it in any format.
They say that reference letters are only provided to people who are going to leave the company, not people who have already left.

At the time of off-boarding I didn't care much for the 2 lines of experience and RnRs my incompetent manager had written for me, which of course do not match with the work I did there. At that time I was oblivious of EE and CIC.

However, I have managed to ask an ex-colleague of mine still working in the same project, to confirm my RnRs via an official email stating my RnRs and my working hours with his official (company) email with his email signature with his contact details.
Will this be suffice?
Or do I need to get a print out of his email and then get it notarised?

2. My present employer doesn't give any reference letters either. Again, its only provided for people who are going to leave the company, not people who are currently working.
If I do ask the HR, it will immediately travel through the hierarchy which sends a message that I might soon be leaving the company, which jeopardises my job if my EE application doesn't go through.

However, my reporting Manager is a nice guy and has asked me to ask if an email from him would work? He is willing to provide his personal phone number and email if CIC requires. I will ask if he can provide his visiting card also, but I am not sure about the visiting card this because there is no visiting card culture in the company I presently work for.
Will this be suffice?
Or do I need to get a print out of his email and then get it notarised?

Any bright ideas?

I don't have salary slips

What I do have is :-
1- offer / appointment letter
2- bank statement of salary account
3- experience letter
4- reference letter of ex- employees of the same company , with a superior designation.

The company has transferred management to another company, but still operating with the same name , when asked for reference letter , they are telling me that we as a new management haven't been given any handover by the old management hence we can't give you the desired letter due to company policy .

Can I ask the employees who worked with me and who are giving me the reference letter to mention that the company shut down and has now started it's operations under different management ?

Will it create a problem during PR process, kindly guide me through this . :)

yes, the company i was working for changed its name while i was working there. so in the letter of explanation i mentioned the same.
in my salary slip, offer letter was the old name, and online was the new name.

you can write an email to your reference and ask them to confirm that that name has changed.

Hi everyone,

WHAT ARE THE REPERCUSSIONS OF LEAVING OUT EMPLOYMENT HISTORY FROM EE PROFILE OR PR APPLICATION?...I.E SAYING YOU WERE UNEMPLOYED FOR THIS PERIOD INSTEAD OF WORKING FOR AN EMLOYER (BECAUSE I CANT GET A REFERENCE LETTER FROM THOSE EMPLOYERS)

Can someone who has maybe been through the PR process please give me some insight on how important the employment reference letter is?

I worked for 3 mining companies in Australia who all went into receivership after the mining industry collapse last year. My 1 year of continuous skilled employment was with one of these companies, I have every payslip from them, evidence of them going into receivership and letter of offer/contract but no evidence of my main duties. Will this suffice if I write a statutory declaration regarding my main job duties or get a letter from a former work colleague confirming my duties?

For the other 2 companies, I worked for both for 6 months each, but I only have payslips for several weeks in each job. Payslips are the only evidence I have. Is it better to leave these 2 employment histories out of my EE profile and PR application or will this be construed as misrepresentation? If I'm not trying to claim points for those 2 jobs it does it have to be included in my EE profile? And for the business cards....some of my past employers who have provided me with reference letters do not have business cards, will this be a problem?

And how the hell do I contact CIC!?....tried the 1888-242-2100 number but its all automated messages!
Hi,

Haven't gone through all the replies, however this is what I have done with respect to experience letter not being issued by my company.

I have notarized a bond paper with all the duties and responsibilities which was signed by my colleague. Basically it was statutory declaration.

Hi Guys... There is a confusion I have regarding the reference letter.. in my previous orgs I got promoted so is it compulsory to mention about all the designations and also add separate sections for duties for all the designations or just the last designations and consolidated version of all the duties would be ok???
For your information: I got hired as an executive digital marketing then after 2 years got promoted to Manager digital marketing..but work remained almost the same..
Can you please guide on this please??

Hi Guys,

I have my reference letter from perevious employers. But my problem is when I submit my reference letter if they contact my employer to verify I am worried that my employer might say something wrong about me, Because I had to file complaint along with few of my colleauges against employer to USCIS since my employer was not paying. Does anyone give me suggestions on this please. Can I submit job offer letter/pay stubs anything instead of my reference letter? Please reply ASAP. I am in between creating EE profile.

You have to provide CIC with a reference letter.
They might call your employer or they might not.

If you submit anything BUT the reference letter, they are much more likely to call your previous employer.

I would recommend submitting only the reference letter
