Don’t believe MBBS is 2 degrees. Was the entry after secondary school without a bachelors. Normally it is evaluated as a professional degree although it could be offered as a bachelors. Very dependent on the school but in general a professional degree. You will have to wait for the assessment by WES or other organization.

You should be aware that getting licensed as a physician is very tough for IMGs. If you are a specialist (not psychiatry or pathology) your chances are almost zero. IMGs have to pass 2 licensing exams and then repeat their residency. In most specialties there are no leftover residency spots. Most IMGs will need to pursue another profession in Canada. You should consider moving or immigrating to another country if you want to practice medicine. For example the UK is searching for more MDs.

Sorry, no. I'd prefer to reply here as I am not an immigration counselor and will only do this when/if I have the time.
I understand. Thanks for your help so far. If you know any active Indian IMGs on forum, do let me know. Need to verify the fact My application hinges on that fact.

If you would be so kind, you can see that I have mentioned in this thread, that she has no intention of practicing. If it works out well and good, if not then it's fine.

Also I appreciate your views on the bachelor's topic. I took the degree out and saw that on the degree itself it is written as Bachelor Of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery. Now based on that can it be that it be treated as two instead of one considering the duration of the degree, is 5.5 years.

My PR application literally hinges on this fact.

Also my wife has an incomplete bachelor's degree, can that count as well? 2 semesters pending. Can that aid as well?

It will be considered as one professional degree not 2 bachelors degrees. I have never heard of a MBBS being evaluated as 2 bachelors degrees. It is either 1 bachelors degree or 1 professional degree. Semesters only count if it is a part of a completed program.

Hello,

I will be applying for PR in the next month or maximum by October. (Just got the UNI transcripts, going to send them to WES, going for IELTS next month).

Anyways just a confirmation, there is absolutely no way to apply for jobs from my home country (India) and actually get them before the PR process ? (I am not that exceptional that I will get sponsorship from the employer). Employers are not looking for oversees candidates to bring into Canada, right ?

So there is no point applying through all the job portals and waiting to hear back from them? Also all the immigration consultants (WWICS, Y AXIS & Others) are promising job assistance ? Is that any good ? I mean does it work? should I rely on them ? Have people genuinely benefited from these job assistance by the consultants?
Yes.......Some of the consultancy firm are genuine.......but on the other hand some make fake promises too.
The only way to distinguish between them is their reviews and ratings.......and also there are many genuine job portals also that provide job assistance.
Here are few of them:
  • Canadainfonet.org
  • JobsVisas.com
  • Zero2Hired.com
  • Canada.ca
  • CareerEdge.ca
Hope these site help you to get your dream job! All the bestSmile :)
