Hello! So i had a question about the police certificate requirements in the checklist and I'll post the direct info right here. So, I have been in Canada for the past six months AND the country I've spent the most time since turning 18. Does this mean I check the box and don't provide one at all? Should I provide a small letter explaining why I don't have a police certificate from the U.S to send since I've been in Canada for both of the required countries? Thank you in advance!

You (the principal applicant), and any family members 18 or older (who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents), must submit police
certificates from the following country or countries at this time, unless indicated otherwise on the police certificate webpage:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/medical-police/police-certificates/how.html.
The country where you (or they) currently live, if you have lived
there for six months or more; and
The country where you (or they) have lived most of your (their) life since the
age of 18.

Canadian Police Certificates
If you (or a family member 18 or older) have lived in Canada for the last six months, or Canada is the country where you (or they) have
lived for most of your (or their) life since the age of 18, police certificates for Canada are not required at this time. IRCC will make a
request for (a) Canadian police certificate(s) on your behalf. Check here if this applies to you

If you, since you turned 18, stayed in any country longer than 6 months, you should provide police clearance certificate from there.
Let’s say you went to USA (or any other country) for 3 months and after 5 years you went there again for 3 months, total is 6 months. Means you need pcc from there( fbi clearance).
When I applied, I got one pcc from my country and one from USA. I believe you will need to get police certificate from Canada.

It says the country where you've lived most of your life since 18 AND the country where you have lived there 6 months or more. Both of the countries are Canada for me since I've been here for over a year now and I've spent more time here than USA since turning 18.

It's a bit of a weird one, because the instructions definitely say what you've just summarised, but we've seen people on this forum get their applications sent back to them because they didn't include police certificates from other countries that they had previously lived in for longer than 6 months. It might be safer to also get your FBI clearance from the US and submit it with your application too.

Yeah that's what i was thinking too.i have a police certificate from the very last time i was in the states which was june 2018..do you think that would work since i haven't returned since? Or should i get a new one even though it would be the exact same info since i haven't been back in states since June 2018?
