I applied for OINP- international student employer job offer. I did receive the Nomination, but Since my open work permit is about to expire In 5months, I need to apply for work permit using work permit support letter provided along with the nomination.
I have a doubt; is employer compliance fee necessary and should be paid by my employer or am I exempt from that under any case.
If anyone has applied for the same please guide me. Thanks

In 2017, my employer refused to pay this compliance fee of around $200 and I've been in my home country ever since ( I had a closed work permit ). They did help me with my provincial nomination though. Employers have to pay this fee but since you have an open work permit, your employer is exempt from paying the fees.

All information here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1186&top=17

In conclusion, you're exempt from paying the fees.

Hope this helps.
