Regarding Reference Letter.

Hello,

I worked in an organization for exactly 3 years.
The guy who is going to give me reference letter worked in the same organization for 1 year 5 months during my 3 year stint. Now he is working in another organization. Sadly, he is the only one from whom I am able to get a reference letter. He is ready to give me it on his present organization letter head(he works with central government of India, highest admin post), along with his relieving letter from his previous organization(i.e. the one I worked with him). I have 3 years experience letter from this organization.

Will this suffice as a reference letter, or am I in a soup? Or do I need to have more?

Why

This does not sound good and it may make the officer feel suspicious. Could you tell us why can't you get it from the previous organization. A letter from your supervisor's current firm will likely not work.

Can I ask him to write the reference letter on a white paper, notarize it and give it to me along with a scanned copy of his relieving letter from the previous org?

The one I worked, my previous org is full of oldies and heavily dusted with red-tapism.

One of my ex-company was already liquidated at the time I applied for EE. My reference declared my work experience details as required by IRCC on a government notarized letter. While I'm still waiting on my PR I have a friend from the same organization who did the same and got their PR so I can confirm it is acceptable to IRCC. Do make sure to include contact information of your reference.

One of my ex-company was already liquidated at the time I applied for EE. My reference declared my work experience details as required by IRCC on a government notarized letter. While I'm still waiting on my PR I have a friend from the same organization who did the same and got their PR so I can confirm it is acceptable to IRCC. Thank You very much for your prompt response. I have one more question. In my case the organization is a well reputed one whose primary function is to establish monetary policies for India. Will it be ok to get reference letter from a person who left this organization??

in case you can't get a letter directly from the organization, I would say get it from someone who's still working there, if even that's not possible then get it from the person who's left the organization.
