Hi All,

I am writing this to request the members to suggest whether it would be appropriate for me to hire an immigration consultant as per my case. My case details are as below:

  1. My NOC Code is 1241
  2. My IELTS score is Band 7 (I am reappearing for IELTS to improve my overall CRS to get to 350)
  3. I am eligible to apply in 4 provinces
  4. My age is 42
  5. My ECA is cleared through WES
  6. My CRS is 303
  7. I have the necessary proof of funds (does showing more than recommended funds help the case?)
  8. I have the work reference letters as recommended by CIC
Thank you.

Your case details don't really have much to do with the decision to hire a consultant. A consultant can provide advice and help you through the process, and possibly give you the best chance to succeed, but they can't guarantee acceptance.

You should use a consultant if you are unwilling or unable to read up on the whole process (it can be quite complex, and you don't want to make a mistake), and you know a good consultant that you trust to do a good job.

Consultants/lawyers can be very useful if you get a good one - and utterly useless if you get an incompetent one (worse than useless, sometimes). Take your time to find one, and make sure they are registered and regulated - check the ICCRC website (consultants) or the Bar Council of the Province (lawyers).

Thank you Goose,

Just one other thing.....Does showing more funds then recommended improve your chances of getting EOI or NOI from provinces.

No, that doesn't affect it. You need to meet the minimum requirement, that's all.
