All GTA application process over 11 month

Hi team

as applicant who we had been in process almost 12 month, we need to make sure we are able to vote in next election as citizens, we were waiting for long enough without any action, and our application for citizenship compared with other center had been delayed unfairly with no action, of balancing those and distributing work between centers
I am starting this thread to establish a good sense of all delay application with no reason

Well i will disagree a bit on this. Process may be longer for GTA applicants but they are distributing work among GtA centres. Example is of many cases which got transferred from Mississauga to scarborough. Also Mississauga is working and conducting tests on weekends as well.

We may judge them incompetent from our case example but what we dont know is exactly how big is the backlog? Bcz i can see they have 8 citizenship ceremonies a week so there must be huge backlog but i see they r catching up since they started inviting August 2018 applicant for test

I applied in may 2018. still no test invite. They should complete old files before inviting newer ones for test. Otherwise backlog will keep growing.

Request ATIP notes or followup through ur MP. Most likely ur security screening is still pending before which they do not invite for test at mississauga

The 12 month processing time is an estimate based on historic data. They do not guarantee that the processing time will remain the same at all times. It's frustrating knowing that others are getting approval before us in the GTA but at the same time we should be thankfull that this government made positive changes to the residency requirements. We could have been waiting for longer and we would'nt have been compaining about that because we would have gotten used to it. It's ok to feel frustrated about it as we are human but we should still count our blessings.

I got my test invite after 16 months, and 19 months for oath. Some people have waited for more than 20 months.... 11 months is too early to complain

I must agree with all the others here...There is so many variables why someone is taking longer than the other to be invited to test or for oath. Also its not only IRCC offices that are involved in this process. There are CBSA,RCMP,CRA and i don't know how many more agencies and we don't know what kind of backlog they have. Watching this forum and reading thru threads people that go to there local MP all get standard response from them that the file is in process and there is nothing they can do about it. Order ATIP notes that will tell you where your application is and what are they waiting for to be completed before they invite for test. For oath they are trying to squeeze as many they possibly can. I believe its about 100 people per Oath ceremony. And as one person above said they have 8 ceremonies per week in Mississauga at 100 people per ceremony you do the math and will realize how big the back log is that they dealing with. They are also sending applications to Scarborough office and as far as i have seen they started offering next day Oath to some lucky applicants! Like so many people are saying be happy that your here and you have PR that enables you to work get health care and so many other privileges. I do agree with you, i am Aug 2018 applicant, however, still pending, they are taking some action now, but that issue had been their for a while now, compared to other centers this is extremely slow, and kind of not fair, even for Scarborough processing time in average 6 month, and once you pass exam you will have oath, in Mississauga, need to wait for a whole month

bottom line we need to be able to vote in next election here
