Got PRR for TRV in Canada but won't be able to send passport

Hi guys,

I applied for TRV back on June 21 as the processing time for the TRV inland was 5 days. However, it took them a lot to get my visa approved ( on July 13 ).

I'm traveling on August 4th and I went today to Canada Post and submitted my passport but I will wake up super early and go retrieve it back as I don't want to risk sending my passport and receive it after August 4th.

I have seen many people, including a friend, who reported that they got their passport back after 3 - 4 weeks.

My question is, I know that if I don't submit my passport after 30 days the application will be refused.

I'm planning to apply again for TRV from the country where I'm going.. Paying 100 CAD again for an application is better than risking a non-refundable 1400 CAD flight.

Will that affect any future application or my on-going PR application as I'm expecting my PR at the end of this year? I know that if I provide a letter of explanation why I couldn't send my passport for the inland application it would be an obvious reason but does it affect anything on my profile on CIC?

Note that I'm a worker here in Canada and never had an issue with any application ( 2 Study permits, 3 TRVs, PR ) until now.

You can print the letter for the passport request and send your passport to the Local VO in your country. You don’t need to abandon your application when you can just submit it somewhere else where the processing time might be faster. I read some people had to do that and it worked and they were able to come back with the new visa on their passports, call IRCC to confirm if you like.

Based on the page "Where to submit your passport", it's mentioned that you need to send your passport to Ottawa if I mentioned that I'm applying and living in Canada.

Ill give them a call tomorrow and see

Well I have seen many people reporting that they could get the visa stamped in another office than the required one to send to.

I called the visa office in Egypt and they told me that I need to check with Ottawa first and get a confirmation from their end and mail the confirmation along with the passport and the approval letter.

Still waiting for Ottawa's email
