Needing Advice on Partnership Visas

I've got a bit of a complicated situation I can't really find the answer to.

My partner is from New Zealand and I am American. We have been living together in New Zealand for almost two years now and we were looking at moving overseas to Canada. It's quite easy for New Zealanders to get into Canada, however, after countless hours of browsing, Americans seem to have a hard time getting in. Is there a visa out there where we can both still stay together, without having to do long distance, and move over there and where we can both work to start building a future together?

We both want to work. We both want to remain there for a year or even longer. We don't want to have to depend on one another financially or be forced to be separated. We've done the long distance and it was hard enough to close it. With the new immigration policies being rolled out, me staying here in New Zealand is becoming less and less possible. The way American immigration policies are, there is no way I could bring my partner back with me.

Thus we are looking for alternatives.

How old are you both? Americans and Kiwis can visit Canada easily but moving and working here is a very different story.

My partner is 27 as of next week, I am currently 24. Moving would be ideal as we want to build a life now.

You can consider Express Entry, EE gives your permanent residence in a processing time of 6 months. More on EE : https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/express-entry-in-a-nutshell.394158/
Thanks for the reference, I'll take a look.

EDIT: Thank you both for your quick replies.

Your age is on your side. You should seriously consider Express Entry. EE gives maximum to applicants between the ages of 20 to 29

I find it hard to believe that there isn’t a program allowing a US citizen to move to NZ versus both of you qualifying to move to Canada.

Even if they would had, why would anyone want to go to country with pathetic healthcare system when you can go to a country with good healthcare system!

You haven’t even moved to Canada so don’t think you can comment on how great our health system is. Trust me I am thankful but great isn’t the adjective I would use. Would say the NZ has a comparable health system and people are flown to Australia when services aren’t available. NZ is a very good option.

I haven't moved to Canada, yet, but have been to the US and Canada a few times [with each trip of being more than 3 weeks]. Pardon my ignorance towards the health care systems of Australia and NZ, but I think Canada is much much better than the US infact Indian healthcare is better than US. Indian is not free but much more accessible and affordable than that of US.

Anyway, my earlier post was pun intended. ;-)

Canada’s healthcare system isn’t as good as it should be. If it was I wouldn’t fly to Alberta from Ontario and pay $895 for a procedure, where the waitlist is 6 months in Ontario

Not sure what US has to do with anything, I suggested they resettle in NZ.

Literally just got off the phone trying to see what is going on with my referral from October. When I had called in the winter I had been told that I could anticipate an appointment in the summer.

People think it’s a medical paradise here. I’m on a waitlist currently 9-12 months
I’m just fortunate I can afford to take my health into my own hands
